I know, I know: you ladies can take or leave pink. That thread maybe finally died. :)

Well, me? I LOVE pink. A lot, with a vengeance; this is no secret. My boyfriend, thank goodness, not only accepts this, he downright encourages it.

So he surprised me on Christmas with news of my upgraded and custom-painted bike frame, that I didn't get to see until recently. I finally rode it Sunday for the first time. WOW!

(Bottlecages from liza still in effect!)

Details on the pretty parts: magenta with a heavy multi-colored glitter, then clear coated. My name and the logo are in a shimmery white. The cranks and stem are painted to match. The "lugs" are real silver leaf.

Underneath all that is a 2010 Ruby, which is stiff as heck and descends like a beautiful dream: it carves the road like a snowboarder on a fresh patch of powder. So. Flipping. Cool.

And since I name all my bikes after cheese, this one is henceforth known as Windsor (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Windsor). :D

Here's to the next 10,000 miles!!

I think that bike's way beyond the pink or not thing; it's just beautiful! And sounds like you're having fun riding, so that's the best sort of bike possible! Here's wishing you many happy miles together!

Let me take a guess at the tires.

TE used to sell Schwalbe. Have no idea if they still do.

Ultremo's were recalled.
Not back on market yet. At least in colors. Tho serfas makes a nice pink tire- at a better price.

Ah! It appears you're right at least about the R:

Says the R.1 is out now, and lets you buy it from the site by looks. I'll get on this as soon as I can. :)

Here's my uber-not-color-representative iPhone pic I took when I first got it together:

I'm starting to think of switching to that metallic silver handlebar tape. I dunno now!

OMG, that is HAWT! I just showed it to my hubby and he had to check out your Flick'r page to look at the biggest versions. He has an older Roubaix and loved the paint job on yours, even though he loves his matte carbon (boring, IMO) frame.

aaaawww, she's so kyoooooooooottttt! :D

Definitely keep the pink tape. Or switch to metallic silver, but then you have to switch the bottle cages too. They complement each other perfectly.

And you really need a custom saddle in pink!

That's a great bike for you Gnat!

If you wanted to pink it up even more, you could have a pair of wheels built with these.http://www.velocityusa.com/downloads/Colors/pink-1000x750.jpg

My boyfriend has handbuilt wheels in all kinds of colours and has these rims in "teak" himself. I think I might get him to build me some snake skin ones for my next bike.

Fantastic!!! I too am also in love with pink! However my Orbea is mainly white with pink accents! Not nearly as extravagant as yours (but trust me if it came with that extravagance, I'd be all over it! haha) Congrats! Enjoy your pink girl, she's beautiful!

The font is Curlz (http://www.fonts.com/FindFonts/Detail.htm?pid=206023&/cgi-bin/MsmGo.exe?grab_id=0&page_id=31619&query=CURLZ&SCOPE=Fonts), and is one of my favorites. I have a bit of a font obsession. My hubby teases me, since I am always pointing out fonts in print ads and on billboards. :o

I keep chuckling at the cheese thing. I named mine after a favorite beer, but I could have gone with cheese, too...I was born and raised in WI, so it would be appropriate. Perhaps my next bike will have to be Havarti. :D

That was pretty much it. My first bike was a Trek from when I was 13 and grew up in Wisconsin. Being a Cheddarhead, I dunno, the name took. :-)

My favorite names thusfar are Chevre the mountain bike (made with goat milk) and Kraft the singlespeed. :D

The beer theme is awesome too! Did you name it after a type of beer or the brewery itself?

The beer is Bell's Oberon, made in Kalamazoo, MI.

I think my next bike might need to be named after a New Glarus brew.
