Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a recommendation on mudguards (fenders) that can be used without much clearance between my feet and my front wheel. It’s for an MTB with 1.5” slick tyres on 26” wheels that I use as a commuter. I bought and fitted a nice set of full length fenders the other day, but they introduced toe overlap to a ridiculous degree. With my pedals anywhere near horizontal I could hardly turn the front wheel at all, which won’t do for commuting in city traffic. The cranks are fairly new (only approx 1000 miles) and without the fenders I haven’t got any toe overlap, so am looking more for a creative solution for fenders than to swap out components… :D

Thanks, Lynne.

p.s. I have toe overlap on my 54cm/700C road bike and have just learned to live with it, but I do have to consciously adjust the way I ride, and don’t think it’d be safe for commuting where I might be standing on the pedals and/or going downhill etc.

That looks perfect, thanks Zen!

Haven't seen any short fenders like that before, just either offroad ones or full sets - thanks for a great solution, just what I need! :D
