Muskegon woman road cyclist desperately needs more info on west michigan teams and road events.

I ride in a men's b+ group and will probably be in men's A- this season. want to do time trials and learn to do road and crit racing. Any suggestions for a frustrated 49 years young, female rider (sick of riding and training with husband and all men)?

I wish I could help- I live in South Central. There is not a lot of "community" in this part of the state for that, not that I would be accomplished enough to consider the competitive level you are at. I just train for and do centuries, but not at any particular level of competition, because those are mostly tours anyway and not races.

Let me ask my hubby if he's aware of anything. We live in Muskegon County, too, up in Montague...but DH is connected to cyclists in GR and Holland (including the store owner at Velo City Cycles) via the West MI JDRF group.

UsaCycling is a great resource to start with. (www.usacycling)

I was easily able to find the Michigan Bicycle Racing Association http://www.mbra.org/indexx.php there and they have plenty of other useful information too (and likely you'll need to buy a license)

Darn, the only recommendation he had was asking around at Breakaway Bicycles. Most of the racing crowd he knows are into cyclocross, not road events.
