Over at BikeShopGirl.com I am working on building up an interview series with various women in the cycling industry, or simply cyclist with a great story to tell.

Now, I'm turning to all of you... who would you like to read about or have interviewed? Once we get names of the initial 4 interviewee's I will open the floor to all of you as well, to see if you have any questions that also needed answered.

Who do you nominate, and why?

Susan Otcenas.

Created a business aimed at women cyclists, augmented that business with an amazing bulletin-board community, uses feedback from members of that community to fine-tune her business. Does a lot to encourage women's participation in biking. Has a ton of information on her website for new and experienced riders.

Susan and her board changed my life.

Barb Howe or Liz Hatch - normal everyday women who have made a name for themselves in road and cross through lots of hard work and dedication.

Barb's come back from illness which took the wind out of her sails for a few years. She seems to have worked her way back up to the top, which is great. She's also a down to earth real person (she used to work at my bike shop).

Liz is starting racing in Europe as a 3d year pro. She writes for Cyclingnews.

Hmmmmm
I kind of have general suggestions.
I'd do for an all around panel the first time

one women racer
one woman who runs a tour company
one woman in the custom industry (I have a specific suggestion here - Margot who owns Luna Cycles is a poster here and one of the few woman frame builders around)
one woman who works in the commercial industry

Some good suggestions here.

Eden's suggestion is great too: to choose a woman, each from different facets of cycling.

All the Women on TE! They are a great group. If they can be this civil on the internet, what must they be in real life!

Great suggestions (SusanO is the perfect answer)....two more:

Georgena Terry? Defined an industry segment. Built a company.

Susan Notorangolo? Early RAAM rider. Operates PAC Tours, encouraging women to reach new limits.

Of those mentioned, I've met Margo Conover, Susan Nortorangelo, and Georgena Terry. All are delightful and inspiring, and I think each would be wonderful to interview.

There are other women who have a tremendous impact on cyclists, too. Like Jennifer Toole, a planner who owns a transportation planning firm in Maryland that works with communities and cities all over the US to create bicycle master plans to make cities more livable and cycleable.

And plenty of small bike shop owners, like RunningMommy on TE and Jill DiMauro of Proteus in College Park, Maryland. I'm sure that there are many, many more like them, who quietly improve women's lives through cycling.

How 'bout a long-distance solo cycle tourist?

Denise Goldberg (as I recall) used to post here, and has gone across the country.

There are others, I'm sure, but I have no idea of names.

In real life I'm a 70 year old Nascar watching beer-can-holder-hat wearing grumpy old man living in a trailer park with 15 cats in Nebraska. Been nice chatting with you gals! :D ;) :p ;) ;)

How about Amy Walker of Momentum Magazine? While we're tossing out names can we suggest questions?

Does it have to be female cyclists just in the northern hemisphere???

What about Anna Meares or Tori Thomas? The founder of the Amy Gillett Foundation (Amy's husband)?

BSG, will you video the interview? It would be cool to see them all interacting.

in addition to eden's list, please add a custom framebuilder like Margo from Luna Cyles or Natalie from Sweetpea
