Hi, all:
I've posted a bit, but mostly I've lurked, and I really get a lot out of these forums. As it turns out, a group in my workplace (Odopod, a digital agency) is trying to do research on women and cycling, and forums and resources for them. We're looking for women 18 and older to participate in the poll. I respectfully invite you to participate:
What do you love about riding a bike? What would help you enjoy it even more? Participate in our quick survey and share your love of cycling. It should be fun. It’s quick too -- it should take no more than ten minutes of your time.
Just follow this link --

Thanks,

Would be interested in what you think of poll daddy software after survey data is collected.

I want to say that the poll asks questions which lead me to believe a new online women's cycling forum is in the making.

I'm probably different than other folks here: if I chose to participate in another women's cycling online forum it would have to offer something very different in terms of focus, membership.
Online participation is great but we have other interests too. (outside of cycling).
Life is short...and already my partner and I lead a cycling oriented life.
I'm off to cycle for fitness, shop by bike, then blog on cycling,... later attend a public session which no doubt, cycling might be mentioned (Chicago experience) :p So to spend more time in another different cycling forum is probably not healthy for me to make my whole world cycling-focused.
This is why we also engage in chatting up other topics. At least for me. :)

not impressed thus far, as I experienced a continual loop...was glad to participate, but it was neither quick nor fun to keep hitting the 'continue' button and get to answer the 1st question (gender) over and over...
better tweak it a bit...

The software worked fine for me - no snags. And I answered the three-word question with four, too, and it took it.
I agree that it looks like someone is setting up a new female cycling forum. Maybe it's one of the magazines.

Using a women's cycling forum to gather information for creating a women's cycling forum?
OH, THE IRONY.
No thanks, I'll keep the ten minutes to play my banjo later. :D

Some of the survey questions are unanswerable as written, at least for me. And I'm not interested in another online biking forum; heck, I'm not interested in another online forum, period, as I have plenty of them now as it is!

Thanks but no thanks. This is the only forum I need and with all due respect I don't think a poll or survey could determine what makes this place so great.
You're welcome to stick around and try to figure out why it's so different here.
Personally I think it's the chocolate and wool ;) :p Welcome to TE!

Took your survey--no problem with it.

For those of you interested, I checked in with the team who was running the survey and poll daddy software worked well for them ... but not that much better than survey monkey, which is what I have used in the past. I think those competing are pretty similar in general, and they all get significantly better once you become willing to pay for unlimited access. So, it's not a glowing recommendation, but it's not a non-recommendation. It is what it is: tremendously adequate.
