Big Kitty at the ripe old age of 24 has finally gone off to the rainbow bridge. Mark and I took him to the vet this morning so that he would not suffer. We have been snowed in for a few days here in Flag so I was not able to get him to the vet a few days ago. He finally quit eating a couple of days ago and that was the sign from him. He was getting weaker and weaker and it was time.

I am devastated - 24 years is a long long time. But, I know he is off playing in the sun with his buddy Little Kitty and all the other kitties from TE. I'm pretty sure he just caught a mouse and is tag teaming other kitties with his buddy right at this moment! Oh, and of course, lapping up some spilled milk.

So sorry to hear of your loss. Maybe you can take some comfort in the fact that he had a good, long life with you--I know it's still hard though :(.

Spoke, I'm so sorry. :( :( It's so hard to let go of little family members, particularly when he's been around as long as he has. What a blessing to have known him and what a privilege it is to have kept him for as long as you have. When darkness falls upon you, remember the good days, the special days you both shared to comfort you. My thoughts are with you.

Sending hugs and warm thoughts to the spoke family - 24 years is a long time to have a friend and then ... not. :( But, what a long and full life.

hugs to you, Spoke. 24 years is a long time, but that doesn't make it any easier to take (maybe harder).
So sorry... :(

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Kitty had a wonderful, long life... You gave him the most selfless, loving gift---ensuring his passing from earth was peaceful and dignified. Now he's some place where he can chase butterflies all day.

I hope you find comfort in your good memories of kitty.

Spoke,
Sorry to hear of your loss. :( Little Erin will be there to greet BigKitty and help him play catch with the mice, then go find a nice warm spot in the sun to catch a few rays. Our fur babies definitely leave paw prints on our hearts.

24 year old kitty. His age by itself is a proof that he had a wonderful charmed life with Spoke.
But... we all have our time... our place on earth. Our world has changed a lot during the 24 years, so did big kitty, from a big furry kitten to a big kitty who has aged; so did mom, dad and everyone else. And the time came for him to join others at the rainbow bridge where time stands eternal. From there, I'm sure he will be looking over you from the rainbow bridge, casting a protective gaze over his mom and dad as you did for him while he was here on earth.

We remember and cherish the sweet memories...His spirit will continue in your heart.

sincerely and peace be with you,

smilingcat
