Hi... I'm a runner as well as a cyclist... and my favorite shoe has always been the Asics Nimbus...

However, they are always good as changing the model slightly year to year, and some changes I do not like...

for instance... the Nimbus VIIII (9) was not a good fit for me, not sure what they did... but I did not like it. I was lucky enough to find the Nimbus X (10) and ordered 3 pair at the time. However it's time now to get a new pair.

I'm wondering if anyone is running in the Nimbus 11 and if so, how it compares to the Nimbus 10.

I can't offer you any insight, as I have never had luck with Asics shoes (their last is usually too curved and the heels too loose).

But I can commiserate. For the first 2.5 years I ran I wore NB pretty much exclusively. I have a wide foot and I loved that I could find ANY model in a wide. I was head-over-heels in love with the 902. Then the 903 came out--same sole, but the upper was sorta loose and I had to go down a half-size. Not a shoe I loved. Then the 904...complete train-wreck--so much that they released the 905 just 6 months after the 904. NB changed their last about a year ago and now their wides are narrower than a lot of companies' mediums. I gave up completely on NB last Spring.

Now I am in Nikes for road running, but I find that they change their models pretty often, too. It's frustrating. I have learned that if I love a shoe I need to stock up. Mizuno seems to keep models around a lot longer, just changing the colors every 6 months or so. I am happy that I can still get my favorite Mizuno trail shoe a year after I bought my first pair--just in a new color.

Loved the 10, hate the 11. Hard to describe why -- it just feels stiffer and clunkier, and (visually) they stripped off the silver flashing and off-center lacing, which I actually liked. The 11 looks more dated. It comes in a variety of colors, but my running store only carried the boring blue and gray. Bleh.

I haven't noticed any real difference in my runs, but I wear my 10s for everything but running, and I always feel happy when I put them on.

Hoping we'll soon be at the Nimbus 12... and that it will be more like the 10!
