Recently my DH and I were given an indoor trainer. It is a used Volare trainer. We were so excited until we tried to put one of our road bikes on it. For some reason when we mount the bike we can't get it in position with the roller on the trainer. If we could just get the back wheel to move over 1/2" it would at least be on the wheel of the trainer (even if not in the middle).

Has anyone run into this problem before? I really want to make this work but can't seem to figure out how to get the roller on the trainer to line up with the back wheel of my bike.

Is there an adjuster where the rear quick release sits? I'm not familiar with the Volare model. On my Cycleops, the non-drive side part of the clamp is threaded to move it side to side (relative to the resistance drum).

Can you post a pic?

I do not have this model, either, but usually like Becky says, there is an ability to adjust the side to side (where the wheel rests on the back) where your quick release (axle of wheel) attaches to the trainer. You dial it in until the wheel sits in the middle and then lock it down. You might want to look up the maker of the trainer on the web and they may have instructions, or at least a contact person you can call to find out how that trainer works.

My husband took some pictures with his IPhone. I'll see if he can post a pic tonight. You hit the nail on the head Becky. We need it to adjust on the side where the quick release sits but it doesn't look like there is any way to adjust it. The quick release sits in a little notch and then the other side tightens down to hold the bike in place but we need the whole wheel to move farther towards the quick release side of the trainer and it won't budge.
