I have not been on here for a few months, like many others, we often have various things come our way, poor health, family worries etc and unfortunately I was not dealing with things too well, not depression, for me I feel it was just worry and anxiety.

Anyway, my reason for starting this thread and no, I have not banged my head but I want to share this poem with you.

Someone turned to me and asked
"How many friends have you?"
Why 10 or 20 friends I believe
And began to named a few...

A blessed one you are
To have so many friends
But think of what you're saying...
A friend is just not someone
To whom you say "Hello"

A friend is a tender shoulder
On which to softly cry
A well to pour your troubles down
And raise your spirits high

A friend is a hand to pull you up
From darkness and despair...
When all your other "so called" friends
Have helped to put you there

A true friend is an ally
Who can't be moved or bought
A voice to keep your name alive
When others have forgot

But most of all a friend has a true heart
For from the hearts of friends
There comes the greatest love of all!

So think about all this
For every word is true
And once again answer please...
How many friends have you?

After much thought I answered
I really only have just one
"It's You!"

A Friend Is Always Special
Because Friends Love You
Just Because You're You!

Thanks to this site, there have been three good friends I have made, thousands of miles from the UK but I always felt they where there to listen.

Have you worked my little anagram out?

I don't think this is embarrassing. It's good to have friends. No matter where they live, no matter if you have met them in real life or not.

Yep...some of my best friends live in my computer. :)

Clock, that was beautiful. People we have never met IRL sometimes make a bigger impact on our lives than they can ever know.

And a beautiful post what a great way to start off the new year letting those who have touched your heart know it.

I too come here for the comrodrie, been here years, post little, but I love seeing all the familiar people and the great stories and advise. TE members are the greatest and thanks to all of you for all you do and say.

Good to see you again, Clock!
While making friends IRL is not always easy for me, coming to a community online and feeling total acceptance is a wonderful feeling!

Have you ever started a thread and then regretted it? Well, that was what I did until I noticed all the lovely replies.

It is a funny old world, I am lucky to have some very close friends yet when I come on here and chat to friends, I can be so more relaxed and honest about how things are, I guess it is the anonymity of it all.

Either way, TE is a great site with some lovely people.

ahhhh shucks!!! :o
I don't feel worthy....But thank you from the very bottom of my heart!! :)
The last couple of years I have had a handful of people come into my life who I feel I should have known YEARS ago, and you are one of them.
So much in our lives are parallel. It is quite odd sometimes how our lives work!!
I add crazy canuck to my list. or "CC" or "canucky" as I like to call her.
And I WILL make it to your side of the pond sooner than later!! So get the tea kettle going...:D
