Glad were back up. I don't know what I would do without all of my cyberfriends. I was going through TE withdrawls not being able to see how you all were doing.

Happy New Year everyone and may you have a great year on the bike(s)!

I'm so glad this is working again! It's the only way I can live vicariously through all the people who live in a climate suitable for biking, as mine is not at the moment! I'm having withdrawl- the last time the weather was suitable for biking here was Dec, 23rd, 23 degrees, but the roads were clear.

Mimi, I noticed that before the forums went down. If you click the button with the quill and paper on the lower right of someone's post it will activate the quick reply box.

It was confusing to me at first. I couldn't figure out how to type in the quick reply box, either!

ETA: I'm not using Firefox, so you could very wel lhave figured this out by now. :)

I am also using Firefox and note I still have to log in every time I come to the forum. This started happening last week. It's a real pain. I check the "remember me" box every time, hoping once it will work!

For anyone having troubles remaining logged in while using Firefox, please try the following:

Delete your TE forum cookies (see screen shot below), close all open Firefox windows, reopen Firefox and login again.

Please report back if this worked for you, or not. Also include your version of Firefox and platform (PC/Mac/Linux). :)

Thanks!
Jeff

As of 7 am PST, I couldn't get in on either Mac Firefox or Safari. I'm okay (obviously) from my work PC on Firefox.

I have never been much of a forum contributor, but I check in numerous time throughout the day. Still, there are threads that don't interest me and don't want to read. It seems the ignore function is gone from the thread tools and I really miss it. Is this something that is gone for good? Please say "no".

When people started having troubles logging in, I removed all the third-party "plug-ins" (of which the Ignore Thread tool was one) as part of the debugging process. Once we get this login problem solved, I look into re-installing it.

As a 3rd party plug-in, it may not be 100% compatible with the current version of VBulletin...

I just tested on Mac OS X 10.3.9, Safari 1.3.2 and was able to log in and remain logged in after closing and reopening the browser.

Please try deleting your cookies and signing in again. Please let me know if that does not work.

It's fine here (Vista with IE8) but at work I see a message dated Sunday that the forum is down for maintenance. We use XP with IE6 at work.

(I know, I know, the IE upgrades are free but for some reason they insist on forcing us to keep IE6.)

I am having no problems; however I don't see the point of a quick reply. Whatever I would say there, I could say as quickly in the regular reply. I tried the function, to see if I could click on the box and it worked with Safari, Mac OS 10.6 something...
I did have one or two occasions in the past few weeks when I had to log in again on my regular laptop I use, but it wasn't everyday.
Not having TE up on a snowy weekend was baaaad. I spent too much time on the trainer and surfing the Net for dumb stuff (which I usually don't do) until it cleared up enough for me to go x country skiing.

I've been experiencing the same thing at work- Vista with IE7 though. We'll see if the same thing happens today...

That's your ISP that hasn't updated their DNS addressing, not the browser. Use the address Jeff provided above, until it comes back.

I didn't get re-remembered (login, I mean) until my spouse (Baby MacGyver, and cute to boot) figured out that it was some weird interaction between the forum's new software and my Ad-Aware settings. The guy can fix anything. :D

Clearing the cookies worked so I don't have to log back in but I have to click the "post reply" button at the bottom of the message to reply- can't just go into the quick reply box.

Nothing seems to have changed for me on TE, except for this morning something new-
every forum page I go to now takes about 2 seconds to load now- and things are twitching/jumping around visually a bit as thread icons and such are loaded.
It's visually annoying and also those precious seconds add up when you are checking 10 different pages. This is something totally new, and is the first forum software issue I have ever had.

OK the loading delay/jittering icon thing seems to have gone away now. For me anyway, all seems well again.
