I gave my dear an Ipod thingamajig for christmas & we've spent many hours searching for good podcasts

Do you have any suggestions for good podcasts??? We have the ones from NASA, CBC, BBC etc etc but thought someone might have other ones they can suggest.

Whilst i'm here..i'll throw this one out for listening pleasure. It's by a local-ish dude known for his quality photos @ WA mtb events

My husband loves The Bike Show from England:

I've listened to a couple of shows- there is an interesting one about the Brooks saddle company.

This has nothing to do with cycling, but you can sign up for a podcast of This American Life (produced by Chicago Public Radio and Public Radio International - quirky stories based on a pretty broad theme that changes each week.) at www.thislife.org . It is a really interesting show, generally quite funny.

+1 on This American Life. Also, if you like British Humor, Stephen Fry has a good podcast. Lots of the NPR shows have them. I also like audiobooks, but that's an entire other category.

Deb, where's your favorite place to get audiobooks?

My personal fave for a good laugh is the BBC Friday Night Comedy show.

If you want some recommendations to Running or Triathlon podcasts, let me know. I listen to most of them and can give you a few suggestions.

I've really liked audible.com. I think about canceling my subscription to save money but then I see another book I want to listen to... I love them when I am driving long distances or knitting.

I also like audible. I've quit and restarted it when I was ready several times. When you start, you can usually get $100 off the price of an ipod through Amazon. Not sure if the promotion is running right now, but if not now, it will be sometime.

A really good place for audiobooks is also your local library. I listen to audiobooks and podcasts while cleaning house and working at school.

Mine is CarTalk - Click & Clack as well as Wait, Wait, Don't Tell both from NPR

Since I drive long distances, I simply plug in the iPod and can listen for hours through the car stereo

I'm also fitting in some French lessons as well!

I get CarTalk, et al, on xm radio (I love XM). I don't listen to podcasts in the car. They are for knitting or cleaning.

I agree. This is laugh out loud funny - so much so that I am cautious about listening to it in public. The report on the Copenhagen conference in the style of Dr Suess in the episode of the 18th was particularly funny

I love Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me :D . Also from NPR, Selected Shorts, usually two, sometimes three, short stories from various authors.

Ooh, fellow podcast addicts! I like all the ones that have been listed here. For all-purpose learning I also like the TED Talks (http://www.ted.com/talks) and for some British humor, The Bugle (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/us_elections/the_bugle/) with Andy Zaltzman and The Daily Show's John Oliver.

I subscribe to a lot of the NPR podcasts--Wait, Wait, This American Life, Driveway Moments, and Radio Lab.
