after falling off the bike and knocking myself unconcious, plus giving myself a horrific set of bruises, road rash etc on the day after Thanksgivng, I am pleased that I have had two good hard workouts with my trainer, two days of cardion cross training of 2 hours each and to nice rides 30 and 40 miles respectively at a not too shabby 15.5 average. Not as fast as I was doing but parts of the top of my head are still numb, as is the area on my forehead around the cut (which by the size and shape of it, I obviously did on my aero bars, and parts of my temple are still tender so I prefer not to push it.
Today's ride was a bit foggy and clammy and I ended up with condensation dripping off my helmet, glasses, nose and face but at least it wasn't too cold.
Tomorrow I continue the gym routine again and possibly spin classes in lieu of riding since the weather looks crummy. I will get out if and when I can. Still it's great to be riding again, and my bike is fine, as am I, and I have to say 2 weeks off is a lot easier to take mentally and physically than the 14 weks it was last three years ago with the broken ribs and collapsed lung.
