The cross country center opened Tuesday, so my SO and I went out for the first skate ski of the year. OMG, I thought I was dying. I made it a whole 40 minutes, with NUMEROUS stops, before I had to quit. Given, the conditions were very soft, so there was no glide, making it even more difficult than usual. But I can bike for hours and run for over an hour. You'd think that there would be some cross training effect. I felt like I'd been sitting on the couch for the last 7 months since I last skated. I was sore everywhere yesterday. *sigh*

Maybe I'm just getting old.

I think I'll go try it again today.:o

Good Job roadie gal. I remember in College having to skate ski 10ks. I must have been nuts to do that. Just remember, your getting exercise that is what counts. Also you are getting a break from cycling too.

I hear you! Nothing gets to me quite like skate skiing. Sometimes I feel like my heart is going to thump right out of my chest... but it is great aerobic activity ;)
