I am a somewhat new triathlete looking to buy an inexpensive trainer. Does anyone have anytips on what to look for (features, makes, etc)?

good idea, I have a cycleops fluid trainer, used to have a wind trainer but this is a lot better.
a couple good threads to start you off are

May also want to look into 1UP trainer. http://www.1upusa.com/bike_trainer.html
We bought one last year afer a lot of research. We had tried a friends fluid trainer (cycleops), but weren't that impressed and I was worried about the potential for fluid leaks as we live in a small apartment. The 1UP folds up small, so storage isn't a problem and adjusts easily for both our bikes. Of course being on the trainer is really boring, but at least I'm on a bike.
Just my two cents!

I got a cheap one but it was really noisy... solved it pretty much with headphones to the stereo. I think you want to try out before you buy.
