We used to have a large poster of that hanging in the womens bathroom in the bike shop.

Now that I think of it, I don't know where it went....

I'd hit it.

Edit to add: 2x.

It definitely is a great shot:eek: Years ago, there was also a poster with Marla Streb on her mtn bike like this. IT was on the cover of Outside magazine, and just about everywhere in the industry at that time. Looks like the camp for Lance thought it was a great idea as well.:p:

is this the wet side view of him on his bike? (sorry I can't get to Flicker from work)

Yes, that's it. It seems that they are very similar, at least in the layout and thought behind the pic.:)

Yep, it's the very same 'shocking' photo that was DELETED from TE when you posted it....apparently too horrifyingly vulgar for some ladies who promptly complained about it to the powers that be.

I think the Lance one came first - wasn't it Annie Leibovitz? It's at least 10 years old.

Yes, Lance's came first.

The complaints were probably only asking for members to have the courtesy of following Forum rules (non-applicable sections removed):

Expected Conduct:
No foul language.
Use NSFW: as prefix in the title of threads that are Not Safe For Work
No Pornography (*see below)
No Copyright Infringement **
No Unauthorized Direct/Hot-Linking of Photos ***

Forums Are Monitored
We will routinely review posted messages to ensure that message content meets the requirements set herein. Messages not in line with this stated policy will be edited or deleted, at our discretion. Repeat offenders may be temporarily or permanently banned from the forums.

* Art or Porn?
Artistic nudes that do not reveal genitalia are permissible, but threads containing such images should be prefixed with NSFW: in the title. Also, if the image could be considered controversial, an explanation of such should be made in the post, and the image should be linked to rather than embedded in the post.

** What Is Copyright Infringement?
"Creative works" such as text, photos, and drawings are automatically protected by Copyright at the time of their creation. Unless the author/photographer/artist explicitly grants permission to reproduce the work, you most likely do not have the right to cut-n-paste the work into the forums.

*** What is Direct/Hot-Linking?
Direct Linking occurs when you "pull" a photo directly from a different website for embedded display in your post. If you do this without permission from the site on which the photo is hosted, you are in effect stealing bandwidth from them.

For instance, posting the Leibovitz picture can only be done through copyright infringement or hot-linking. Linking to it with a NSFW complies with the rules (at least, that is my interpretation). I suspect that flickr account is collecting a nice set of copyrighted photos that are not owned by the flickr account owner.

Oh copyright infringement you heartless master.... :D

Oh I see....TE members were complaining about the copyright/hot-linking infringement issues of the Lance photo...but didn't care about that for the other photos on the same thread. I get it now...

Have seen the Lance photo elsewhere ages ago. Not on TE. Didn't realize it was Lance.

Never seen the Marla photo before.
True, certain elements of cycling popular culture bypass me..alot.

Maybe I'm jaded, but when I see photos like that, I wonder how much has been photoshopped. That's some pretty impressive upper body musculature on him. If it's real, it must have been taken off season because on-season he wouldn't want that added weight.

Beautiful shot, body of a god, but not hot. Pale skinned guys should have some visible body hair. I know its done in the service of his greatness, but I find manscaping generally distasteful.

I wish I could remember the name of the Norwegian chickie in my avatar...

Maybe photoshopped, certainly funky lighting, blatantly copying the Lance photo, but I really like it.

This one of Jessi Stensland is awesome, not least of all because she has clothes on and it isn't posed... http://www.strangesports.com/images/content/140101.jpg

I'm not too keen on that Annie Leibovitz photo, I have to be honest here. There are much better ones like these.

You don't have to believe in a deity to basically say, "true dat!" That's all amen means. :)

This is sad but when I saw that Lance one I thought, hey whats the bike then, looked at Lance! Uh oh, bike nerdness....

Yeah that cornfield bike pic is ...disturbing:eek:. I mean I like the Lance one as it seems so elemental, like he is a force of nature in nature. The other one is like nudie guy pin ups( and could go into my flikr folder of disturbing cycle guy pics.:p

the bike that Lance is riding is a trek. my copy is much larger than the Flickr one you all looked at. And Lisa, yes, her belly is a bit too tucked, but to me her head looks fine. Women have small heads and just because they beef up their bodies their heads don't grow.

Funny an australian doesn't recognize a fellow australian. It's Robbie McEwan. :D

He's my favorite aussie. :D

But the pic sucks indeed.

 All the pros shave their legs - and not all men have an appreciable amount of back hair, particularly those under 40.

I'm not a big fan of the shaved-and-oiled look either (and I found those Bowflex commercials hilarious, with the hairy pudgy befores and the shaved buff afters), but that shot doesn't look unnatural to me.

Not saying that. But, if I look at his arms at TdF and those arms in the picture, the deltoids and biceps are VERY pronounced in the picture. Hard to see delts in the cycling jerseys, but I think I'd notice those boulders. Even the triceps look large in the picture.

Just my $.02

OMG, OK - I'm speaking from memory of what I saw on TV because photos can be altered.

However, I did come across this:

http://www.livestrong.com/lance-armstrong/video/tour-de-france-stage-10-lance-with-mark-cavendish-and-george-hincapie/40ba57d1-9445-4acd-aa75-325e8226f02f/

It's hard to tell anything but the bicep development doesn't look the same to me.

In any case, it's a video that includes George.

He might have worked out differently at different times, perhaps finding that he was too heavy in one season, or that he needed a stronger core or whatever?

That video was taking during the tour, so he's probably at his lightest. I think he lost something like 14 lbs before the last tour.

Exactly. The photo is from 1999, when he won his first TDF after cancer.
