Second 50+ degree day in a row and even though I didn't feel great (it's that time of the month) I forced myself to take the bike out since we won't have many more days like this. Anyway, I needed the break from unpacking and organizing. We've only been in the new house for a week!
I started out thinking I would just do little loops around my new neighborhood, but then I found the entrance to a multi-use path that goes to the city's river valley. Downhill and tailwinds got me to where I took the photo. Uphill, head- and side-winds on the way home, almost blew me over!
I felt very mentally and physically refreshed after the ride, and I only did about 7.5 miles . . . but it was just what the doctor ordered!

Pretty picture, and oh, aren't you glad you found the trail? What a good adventure!
I left work in the middle of the day for a bike ride (with my boss's blessing; of course I came back to work after it). It took a long time to feel good today. Usually if I'm riding a very familiar route, I feel good very quickly, but today that wasn't the case. Route was down to and around the Lincoln Memorial, over to Hains Point, back to the Lincoln and then back to work, for 11 miles in all. Eventually, I started feeling better, and I felt GREAT by the time I finished.
I do like riding my bike, and hope that I can continue to ride it during the winter. The prospect of not riding over the winter scares me; riding has been really good for me this year.

It was only 35F degrees when my husband and I started out this morning, but sunny. It was about 45F by the end of our 24 mile ride two hours later. Quite the breeze, though, and I was glad to have put on some decent wool base layers. Could have used slightly thicker socks. ;)
Started out with a bagel and cream cheese and a nice double latte, extra hot. Nothing like good fuel.
It was a beautiful ride. I love riding with my soul mate. :)

Did 42 kms. on this day. I'm pretty boring in terms of route choice (but it is a lovely city route). And the sun was out after several days of rain.

20 miles - part of the road was so rough that my cyclometer changed itself from the time of day to miles! Ugh!
BleekerSt- 35 degrees?? Here, I'm moaning about 48 degree low temp tomorrow. Time to "suck it up, buttercup" for me!
