Okay, the attitude maybe not so much, but I love the language in this article!

I wish our general literacy level was as high as it was then. A few years ago I was hired by an Indian Web design firm that had been hired to redesign a 400+-page Website for a county agency here in San Diego. The agency liked their design work, but their writing (revising the existing content) was unacceptable. It was TOO HIGH for the American reading audience. Their English was university-level King's English. I was brought in to "Americanize" it, i.e. dumb it down to an 8th grade reading level and American phrasing.

Makes me want to go dig out a tweed jacket.

I love Snobby. He and Fatty (and some PioneerWoman and VeloVogue) are my blog staples.

I got teary-eyed when I found out how much stuff Snobby did, and how hard he worked, to help FatCyclist.

Hope Dan's thumb didn't get sore from flipping through the Thesaurus.

I'm no linguist, but this doesn't read like high-English, it reads like someone put his Thesaurus on steroids.

Cute--I have read online that they have the same type of ride in SF each year.

Uh... You read the news?

No, but I read Snobby. He is the news in my cartoonish world.
