For many Australians, the Kokoda Track (http://www.kokodatrackfoundation.org/) is something they would love to do in honour of thier grandfathers or fathers fought on it during WW2. It's a 96km bloody hard hike in PNG & would take me a few years to get fit enough in order to hike it.

One gent is crawling it. If you need inspiration & a smile, read this: http://www.news.com.au/story/0,27574,26321451-401,00.html

It's all in your head.

That is truly amazing and inspiring beyond comprehension!!! I did some research about the Kokoda Track since I've never heard of it before. Wow! What those men went through is...heartbreaking.

We have something similar here in the states called the Bataan Memorial Death March. From the site: The Bataan Memorial Death March is a challenging march through the high desert terrain of White Sands Missile Range, N.M., conducted in honor of the heroic service members who defended the Philippine Islands during World War II, sacrificing their freedom, health and, in many cases, their very lives. http://www.bataanmarch.com/

It's nice to know that we haven't forgotten our brave ancestors and what they did during those horribly difficult times.
