We have thousands of cycling photos from trips, around where we've lived, but not many of both of us together in bike gear or cycling together. 'Cause we're usually we're taking pics of each other when cycling. The red heart bike bell (he got from Belgium at cycling conference) is close to both our hearts. Unintentional corniness. :o :)

So here it is: a preview of our 2009 Christmas photo card for our families far away. Taken actually outdoors last night at a Bike to Work Week commuter station. There was a fun, makeshift photo booth with a pro photographer & his equipment for free photos, coffee, snacks, music and info.

Photos are loaded onto Flickr for all participants. It was great fun.
Hope you have some portrait, clear cycling photos to share also. They really are rare, valuable opportunities.

That's wonderful! I might adopt that idea. I'm lucky to have a partner who shares my enthusiasm for cycling, too.

Great picture! Like you, we rarely have a picture of the both of us on the bikes. Glad you got that one of the two of you- its a keeper!

Wonderful idea! We, too, do not have many photos of the two of us in cycling gear. Funny though, my mom asked for a photo of the two of us for Christmas this year. Her instructions: "NOT on your bikes!"

What a great picture!
This will make a wonderful Christmas card.
Looks cold.

Such a nice shot! Wish we were as organized for the holidays as you. I'm usually frantically fishing through family photos in the middle of December to find one to make a card out of.

Great picture! We don't have too many together either, and of the few we do, I look so awful I don't like to share them. :o This is one of my favorites though...taken at the top of Mt. Diablo this past September.

Obviously, your mom views both of you as a cycling-addicted couple! ;)

Allezgirl, it's wonderful to have a pic with your SO on a mountain top. A location to "aspire" for a pic together.
Stacysue, a pic with another cycling -happy family member is always memorable. Always. My brother-in-law's cherished photo of his now-dead brother (who died from throat cancer at 40) is a group cycling photo with him and his brother on bikes on a group bike trip.

I just HAVE to get my son a good bike! Then I'll have another cycle-happy family member! This brings tears to my eyes.

Well, this is 'cheating' I guess....but this was our holiday card from last year.

I used a real antique postcard of a c.1910 couple on their bikes (they looked somewhat sour-pussed!) and I 'Photoshopped' our happy faces in instead.
It was a big hit with our friends.
It does accurately represent how we feel when riding together though.

Not used for any holiday card, but here's DH and me at the 2008 Seagull Century on MD's Eastern Shore.
It's a rare bike picture where DH is smiling. Usually, he's got this "oh-so-verrrry-serious-biker" look.

I love these photos, especially the christmas cards.

This is one of my favorites of us

Mimi, thought you might have posted a pic with DH wearing his tuxedo cycling jersey. But then, not sure if you have a wedding gown cycling jersey. :)

So far, dearie and I don't have any matching jerseys or cycling jackets. We just have real first names that when you say hi to each of us, greeting+name becomes a real word. :D

After all these years together, we haven't yet sent a Christmas card of ourselves in bike gear. And never thought of the Photoshop solution that Bleeckerstgirl used.

I had to think about that one!

That's us at La Croix de Fer in France. Not the toughest of bike rides, but a gorgeous one.

My favorite pic of the two of us used to be at Crater Lake, taken on Oregon Bicycle Ride in 2004, but then Anniebikes got a real good one of us on her kickoff day of her Women Tours Northwest tour she rode this summer. It's now my favorite pic :-)

Have to say those happily decorated recumbents, lend an other worldly, fun touch.
Love all these happy photos.

And Grog, that Iron Cross, what is the significance of the area? Is that an old cross?

This was at my cousin's house in Santa Cruz last year at Thanksgiving. We had fun showing off the bike, but the funniest part of the trip was getting up early for a ride, getting all kitted out, and noticing only as I was climbing onto the stoker seat that there were no cleats on my new shoes. So we hung out drinking coffee until a bike shop opened. :)

Not 100% sure but I think it's nothing more than a "trail marker." The road where the Croix-de-Fer (Iron Cross) pass is located used to be a smugglers' trail. I could not find info on how old the cross is...
