DH has some questions about what is possible with the $1200 hub he just bought, and when he asked on the ANT message forum (the wireless protocol that allows the hub to talk to his Garmin 705 and other head units), the admin there told DH he would have to buy a $500 developer's license before he, the admin, would answer any questions.

DH just wants to know if this or that is possible with the program. Saris support has been unresponsive. There may be some kind of nondisclosure thing going on. I'm hoping someone here knows someone in the company whom he could call and ask a question or two.

Thanks, all,
Roxy

It's standard for a Powertap to talk to a Garmin Edge 705. There's even a video on how to set it up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNRGbTd2vhE&feature=related

The Garmin gets cadence and power from the powertap and stores it in TCX files. You can upload them to Garmin Connect and get all our reports. In the current firmware the torque is already zero'd out, so all you do is turn it on and ride.

Has he tried the Garmin forums? They're very helpful over there. (Including offering whatever expertise they have on third party stuff like SportTracks and PowerTap.)

Thank you both. I'll pass this on to him. He's wanting to do track something - and for the life of me, I can't recall what at the moment - that is not one of the standard features.

Thank you!
