I'm considering a new place to log my winter miles, and saw a few different places mentioned. I've been checking them out, but wonder: where do you log your miles, and why do you like/dislike it?

I use...
logyourrun.com (which also allows you to log bikes, swims, cross, strength and other
Like: free, no-frills, can map my routes, fairly straightforward to use, ads present but not invasive, can log from my iGoogle page
Dislike: not sure -- seems like other sites might have more bells and whistles?

Beginner Triathlete.com
This was almost impossible for me to figure out how to add my own training plan. So... bright. Finally gave up, as it doesn't seem to have much more than logyourrun.com, unless you pay $.

Training Peaks
Seems like it could be good, but I'm not spending $120 a year. (Maps and Routes are free on logyourrun.com)

BikeJournal.com
LOVE the team approach, but only takes bike miles.

What else is out there? What are you using? What do you like/dislike?

I eventually just print out a plan I create in logyourrun, tape it to my kitchen cupboard door, and write my actuals on top of that. Sometimes I get to logging everything... often I don't!

SportTracks (http://zonefivesoftware.com/SportTracks/). SadieKate and I are the resident SportTracks evangelists. :)

There are so many options, so many ways to look at your data, so many places to record whatever you want.

Meh, not web based? Still, I will investigate!

I like BT because I try to join a mentor group for each session. So, it makes sense to keep my log there too.

But, if BT doesn't work for you there is http://www.ontri.com/
and www.active.com
I'm not sure if either one meets your needs.

I use several, mostly for fun.

Beginner Triathlete is my main logging place.

I also use buckeyeoutdoors.com
and dailymile.com

Both have a number of good features.

I'm on a Mac...

I'm on a Mac too.

I got Parallels/Windows XP mostly to run mapping software, initially - which there really isn't any of that for the Mac, either.

But now that there are so many online mapping resources that are plenty good enough for what I do - the only thing I use Windows for is SportTracks.

I like SportTracks too, but I use Garmin Connect.

For mapping software I recommend www.sportypal.com, also it can be used for logging your workouts as cycling routes or even runs.

SportTracks (http://zonefivesoftware.com/SportTracks/). SadieKate and I are the resident SportTracks evangelists. :)Amen, sister!

If I need to post a route in public for others to see, I've lately started using Ride with GPS. (http://ridewithgps.com/)

Plus 3 (http://www.plus3network.com/)is kind of cool as you can raise funds for worthy causes.

I LOVE Plus3, because it motivates me to ride because the more I ride, the more they donate. They've been making improvements to the site, and are really great to communicate with if you have problems.

If you're gonna log it anyway, why not log where you can donate too?

I think you use Plus3 because you see your name lit up in lights almost every month. :p

Way to go!

Hey, I'm creeping up the leaderboard on Plus3 for Team in Training. woo-woo!

Doubt I'll ever get even remotely close to kf or pw but what the heck, it's fun to try

I didn't think I was on the leaderboards because I keep most of my rides private (that start at my house.) If I had known I was being watched, well, I would have tried harder!!!

My BF is on Plus3 too, and his "sponsor" is giving him a free pair of their shoes for logging so many miles! How cool is that? Money to charity, great software, excellent tech support, and free shoes????

I've gotten socks, a seatpost bag, and well, more socks. But who can complain about free socks?????

I'm a HUGE fan of http://www.runningahead.com/ I have been using the log there since maybe a month or two after I started running (around 3.5 years ago). The site features Garmin integration, user groups, and a really nice support board (quite a few cyclists and triathletes use the site, too). Now that I am adding cycling to my workouts it's easy to upload Garmin data and see my running and cycling log in one place. The guy who owns the site is super nice and helpful, too. RA is his baby.

I looked at Beginner Triathlete and was a little overwhelmed and didn't really see the point of keeping 2 logs that show the same data.

I'm on My Cycling Log (http://www.mycyclinglog.com/group_view.php?gid=331) with the BV forum group. Quite good fun if you're with riders you know (or know of). And it's quick and easy. Some riders from the UK Cycle Chat group moved to MCL when their log site folded so there's been some friendly competition between the groups which is fun too.
