I get really twitchy when I can't ride. During the winter it is just too cold for me on the road bike. I usually hang the bike up and do gym workouts and run. However, this year I am determined to be in better shape at the beginning of the season so that I don't become the blob that I usually am come March.
I am in a gym-workout rut, I lift, run and do abs. I added a bosu ball last year, which was great. But my body has adapted to this, so, having done some research, this is what I have come up with...
Rollers. I am going with rollers to work on my core and line as well as cardio. In the spring I am going to do some trackie stuff, so I need to work on it first.
Insanity. Yes, I am doing the Shaun T Insanity workout...the cardio equal to P90X. I have done the fit test (which I made it through) and the first Pylometric/Cardio workout (which I did not). It is incredibly intense. It is a 60 day program, but I imagine for me it will be 90 days, since I can't even get through the first workout! And I am fit! I guess not that fit, eh?
My usual weight/run program once a week to supplement Insanity.
This is, of course, if I limber up some. THe first two Insanity workouts have rendered me into a pretzel.
What do you guys do??
