Hi ladies!

Wondering if anyone has got info on bike schools/camps in the Vancouver or Calgary areas? I'm thinking about making a trip out West this September and it would be awesome to pick up some skills. All-women camps would be great, but I can play with the boyz, too!

Also, does anyone ride a Rocky Mountain? I'm a dedicated TREK girl now, but would like some thoughts on the brand. I'm also thinking about picking up a used Rocky on the Canada trip, as it seems the patriotic thing to bring back to Japan. I've heard only good things about these bikes. anyone with personal experience?

If you are willing to come to interior BC, Rossland Mt. Adventures (http://www.rosslandmtadventrues) has a great bike camp for women in the fall. I went, and boy was it both fun and work. Coaches were Cindy Devine, Jeannie Dwyer and this year Aliesha Kline. This is mountain biking of course, with a real emphasis on skills.

PM me if you want to know more.

At almost 56 I'm feeling a little MTB'ing clock ticking. I really need to be learning some of these skills quickly if I am going to be able to take some of the rides I want to take. I need help with wheelies, bunny hops, and curb jumps, all very basic skills. Anyone know of New England MTB courses?

are you a member of NEMBA? I'm pretty sure I have heard that they do a lot of group stuff. I'd think courses too, but I don't know for sure

NEMBA (http://www.nemba.org)

I'm out west so it's all heresay to to me, but worth checking out. A bunch of guys on a anther MB board I read are real active with that group.

Look at www.wombats.org - this is the site for the amazing Jackie Phelan. She mostly teaches around California, but travels through the year and gives camps. Womens Mountain Biking And Tea Society (WOMBATS) is a national organization for women riders, with ride contact stuff. How often do you get to study with a legend? Check it out. I'm going out to take her camp next year when I'm fit again (been injured). Email her, she might turn you on to bike camp in Canada if her schedule doesn't work for you.
Have fun wherever you study.
