Hmmm, I may have to start thinking in earnest about that long-fancied trip to Belgium :)

I was thinking the exact same thing jobob! The year my family and I went, we stayed in a house we rented for 2 weeks and ventured out to catch them flying by on one stage. Now I'd like to go over and travel and follow along and see a few more stages. Perhaps 2010 is the year!

Road trip!! :D

Y'all can come and visit me on the houseboat that I'll be renting. I'll be docked somewhere along the Gironde, sunning myself and drinking wine and waiting for the race to come along.

Sigh. That sounds AMAZING!

I will be. I plan on renting a renovated barge. They are very cool, and cheaper than hotels and even apartments for longer stays. And you can tour the canals. Plenty of room for the Bike Friday.

Hmmmm...I could sell my house and just buy one over there. I'll have to give that some more thought.

Yep the tour will be in my neighborhood. :D Oh tulip, since Belgium is not too far from Bordeaux... is there enough space on your boat? :D

I've wanted to be a Tour groupie and follow the route with a tour company for several years now. I'll be 50 next year, so think this will be how I celebrate the half century.

I will admit, I searched around for some hotel rooms last night. :)

Anyone up for l'Etape du Tour (http://www.letapedutour.com/2010/ETDT/presentation/us/index.htm) with me? Col de Marie-Blanque, col du Soulor and OMG the mutha-effin' Tourmalet.
