Waahh! I cut open the package with new rain pants( ground effect, NZ) and cut A BIG THREE INCH HOLE IN THEM!!:(
Do you think they will leak? I sewed it up but Im sooo sad( they cost $$!!!)
On the good side, ladies - I am able to ride with a bunch and keep up. ( Well at least on leisurely rides).I also have got well enough, from Chronic fatigue, to feel almost well, strong when I ride! I can ride 22 km and then turn around and ride back without more than one rest break( to catch breathe, lots of headwinds here).:o

Put some seam tape over the seam - don't just unite the two edges, use seam tape so that you have overlap - and glop it up with plenty of seam sealer. (Glop is the wrong word, really. A thin layer, let it dry, then give it another coat.) Look at how the factory seams are done, and try to imitate that as well as you can. It'll be fine. I took in the waist of a rainsuit once (huge PITA since I had to go in through the liner), did all that and it never leaked.

Glad you're feeling better.

a better option would be one of two products specifically desinged for repairs

Kenyon repair tape, comes in taffetta or ripstop, REI or campmor carries it

or goretex repair tape
