teeny tiny pinhead

Ok, so am I the only one who has a teeny tiny pinhead? I have a small Giro helmet, but it's never been comfortable. From watching the tour, I figured out that it's too big. But there's nothing small I know of (other than going to an ugly kids' size helmet). Any suggestions?

Have you tried women's - sized helmets? I think there's at least one maker that has women's helmets in S/M/L. Unless you're already wearing a women's S.

Some of the kid's helmets are kind of cute ;)

I wear a small and have extra pads placed in the necessary places. For me this worked.

If it makes you feel any better when we did a story about one of the rides around here we made the news reporter wear my road helmet (I was wearing my mountain bike helmet)-and it FIT!!
Now, this guy was like 6'4!

Get on Giro's website and check the actual sizing of your helmet in centimeters or inches then compare to other helmets. I have an E2 from a couple years ago that says XXS/XS. I'm not sure if they still make the smaller helmets using this sizing system, but you really need to know the actual inches or centimeters to compare sizes in your search.

Bubba has the opposite problem and if he ever cracks his current helmet, he'll have to stop riding. I have no clue what we're going to do because Giro doesn't make the really big ones any longer.

Oops, one other thing. The RocLoc 3 or 4 or whatever that are in the Giro E2 and the Havoc seem to adjust better to my itsy-bitsy head.

I just looked at the Havoc and is size it is a size S and 52-56 cm, but again it is a 2001 model. I think Giro changes their sizing from year to year so you need to know the centimeters.

Bubba can crack his helmet, Giro's sizing in the gender neutral helmets has gotten huge! I have a big fat head, so my cowboy hats and helmets look sooooo out of proportion to my face. Anyway, when I cracked my last helmet trying to show off, I was pleased that the Giro Animas actually fit me in *gasp* a medium. Bill says they're sizing them a lot bigger now. Anyway, I'm sure there are bigger noggins than mine, but considering my hat is a 7 3/8 - 7 1/2 depending on brand, there's not much.

and I thought I was the only one with this problem. I wear a Trek Interval Sport Women Specific helmet and also have a Giro Skyla Women's Helmet. The Giro fits the best, but I like the look of the Trek. Even with them being women's small helmets, I have to put pads in to take up the slack. I wish there was a better selection for us pinheads - maybe someday :confused:

I have a Giro Eclipse size: 2XS/XS and it fits my small cranium just fine

I too am a pinhead :D . I bought a helmet with the adjusto knob in the back. No more problems. I think it's a Louis Garneau...

Adjusto Knob is good. They have it on relatively inexpensive helmets now too, which is great - for a long time cheapo helmets seemed to only come in far-too-small and way-too-big (just call me Goldilocks).

I also had the worst problem finding a small enough helmet. I never really consider myself to have a small head until trying to find a helmet. The Giro Pnemo seems to fit me well and I don't even have at the tightest point.

Thanks for all the help. I have a Giro women's, but I noticed there are some smaller ones made by Giro that I will probably try. Too bad they don't make XS anymore... :(
