C'mon, I shouldn't be that far out in front :P And we could catch teams 7 & 8 with a little cooperation...

I'd love to log something, but we seem to be experiencing something called spring--sunny and warm one day, cold and rainy the next. Give me a week or two, and I'll start doing my part. Not that my part is very big or anything, but every little bit helps, right?

First one has to quit being a slug... and second the daily thunderstorms have to stop. I don't do lightening.

I've been dutifully logging my miles, boss! :)
In fact, I'm well ahead of last year, and on course to hit my third P.R. in a row. However, I don't think I'll break into the TE Top 10. Maybe next year. ;)

Girl, you earned that lead. You should be that far out in front. (Except for the fact that I think most of this board's real high-mileage riders are crediting their miles to AV.)

But everyone else needs to log their miles too! Really, if everyone on this board who's ridden 200 miles this year logged them, we'd catch the next team or two just from that.

I"m only a few days behind in my logging! you just ride too much :D

I'm pretty sure mine just go into Amici veloci even though I think I am in both groups. However, the site is so danged slow that its is a HUGE chore to log. I am lucky if I get them in every other week.

OakLeaf

Now, I'm just sayin', but if all you AV gals designated TE as your primary club instead, we'd be halfway to catching Team #6. It's not like AV is going to break into the top ten anyway... ;)

And, the site's only slow on weekend afternoons when everyone else is logging too. Wait until Monday morning and you'll be fine. Or just open another browser tab and hang out on TE until it loads, like I do. :p

I've been dutifully logging mine. Though with a total of about 500 miles this year, not sure I'm helping much. But I'm hoping to add more and with my new bike, to keep riding even when the weather is a little less than nice. :)

I have 1546 miles as of yesterday and ranked 30th in the club. Not bad considering I spent 3 months laid up with my broken pelvis!

I finally got around to logging my miles from this summer, at least the ones I have records of. I've done a fair few rides without my garmin this summer and can't remember when how long or how many. But with the ALC miles, I've added a fair few hundred miles to the total. Hope it helps. Once I get rid of this cold, I'll be back on the bike again and logging more miles.

I have a big zero next to mine because I totally forgot about this journal. I think I have around 3,600 miles or maybe a little bit more. So I'm assuming that we can go as far back as January 1st to update (or start :o) the log? And if so, that means that I am going to be completely unproductive at work or I will have to ignore my kids in the evening when I'm doing my updating! :p

Holy cow! I gotta ask, how do you find the time to put in those kinda miles?

Someday, I will be able to do that....

My daily commute is 30 miles (roundtrip) so it adds up pretty fast. I can't even remember the last time that I didn't ride the bike to work but if I didn't, it was because of nasty weather or I may have had a conference/meeting to go and biking wasn't feasible. I also do longer rides on the weekends. If I do the group rides, they range from 40-85 miles. But if I go solo on the weekend, the rides are shorter. I'm always pleasantly surprised at how quickly the mileage adds up.

would love to participate on the team TE mileage race, but honest....I don't want another Internet forum to my list. Gotta control my recreational Internet chat time. As soon as I subscribe to a forum, I get curious and distracted.

it's easy to ignore the BJ forum, because it is so unwieldy. I don't mean that the threads aren't interesting or fun; they are; but it's so hard to get around that forum, i find it's easier to stay away most the time. However, their JOURNAL is excellent.

You can log them all in bulk if you want.

I dutifully (anally?) record my miles and am on track for my biggest year so far.

I never go to their forums but I love being able to track the wear on my different bicycle components.

All right, already! I forgot about the TE part. :(:( I"ve just been recording my miles on a calendar when I get home. Easy, fast. BJ is fine, but logging in miles is a pain. So, what I'll do is log in miles-bulk. I'll not separate the two bikes I ride- one is my climbing bike which I use occasionally and the other is my main bike which I ride most of the time. I don't have elevation stuff altho I don't think that matters, right?

Anyway, I ride about 150 miles/week so that should help our little team get ahead! :p:p:p:p

Thanks for the reminder.

I do read the Forum threads and occasionally write a new one myself especially if I"m leading a local climb or ride and want to tell others in the area. But, I'm picky as to which ones I pay attention to.

Well, that makes my life much easier. I also log my miles daily but I was using a basic Excel spreadsheet. I just looked at my log and I have 3,619 miles since March 31st - the day I started riding my new Madone. Now I have to find my other log for my old Trek - with my mileage from January to the end of March so I can add the two totals and plug it into the bike journal log.

Yes, i'm logging my km's. No, i'm not happy about my km's for the year to date..:(

OH, I have 1500 from my Northwest Loop ride that I have not logged so I will put them in. I agree...if everyone does her part, we can move up a notch!!!

I do not use the forums on BJ because these are so much better. If I need a specific technical question answered, I usually google it and go to the best forum for my question!

Thanks for the gentle reminder to LOG IN the miles!!!

Tell me about it! Though I set for myself the very very modest goal of 500 miles this year and I'm at 513. So I may pale in comparison to others, but at least I met a goal! Next year, I've set it for 1000 miles!

Awesome! I didn't actually have a goal. But I wouldn't be surprised if I did less miles this year than last (but I didn't log last year) - but I did spend a lot more time in my kayak than on my bike this summer than last. So I didn't get as many long rides in.

Well, I'm seriously impressed by the distances and times that some of the members do here, so I have the impression that I don't go very far very fast. I have a great time doing it, though.

Just think about what that adds up to week after week, month after month! (I'm averaging about 50 miles/week and should pass 2500 miles for the first time this year)

I finally logged my miles. As I mentioned earlier, I had a separate log for my Madone and an old log for my old Trek so I had to combine the two last night. When I kept the old log, I kept my daily mileage but for some reason, I didn't do a cumulative total. So the calculator was my friend last night.

I'm very happy with the mileage that I've done (especially since I don't consider myself a cyclist :p) and I'm starting to think that maybe I can set some higher goals for myself next year.

I'm logging! I'm logging! I do it anally after every ride. Up to 4,082 logged, and that doesn't count about 36 miles I haven't logged yet, cause I snuck in a couple of climbing training rides without my super hero climbing buddy, who is EXTREMELY competitive with the BikeJournal miles and would have been in the depths of despair if she knew I got even further ahead of her in miles! Right now we are exactly even, though, so I'll wait for her to get ahead before adding them! We strive to be as high up in our club stats as possible. We are 9th and 10th right now. I'm 8th on Team Estrogen.

By far my most miles ever. My club, Cycling Connection, has the most miles logged for California. I can't get the thing to tell me how we compare to the country and world, though. Very frustrated.

So, I'm doing my part! Sue, what is your user name on BikeJournal? I couldn't find you on the list by your TE name.

It doesn't matter which club is your primary, as long as you have both club's listed. My miles show up in both places.

Not in the total. In the club list it will, but your miles only count once toward the total. Which is only fair.

I'm slipping... always happens this time of year, but this time I had the foresight to put a half marathon in there as an excuse. ;)

Thanks for the reminder. I added my very short MS-150 ride. All 27.5 miles of it. "Abandonez" as the French would say. Haven't been back on my bike yet. Not sure if my knee would let me. :(

Way to go logging those miles! :)

Now, there are 306 TE/BikeJ members who haven't contributed any miles this year. Some of you probably have another club as your primary - but I'm betting most of y'all just haven't logged because you don't feel you have "enough." If each one of you 306 logs just 110 miles for all of 2009, we can pass Team Paisa. If each one logs 400 miles, we can pass Team yACF too, and third place isn't far from there. Let's do it! :D:D

ay, sorry ladies, but I won't be pitching in this year, I haven't been logging my miles anywhere. I just got sick of keeping track of all the numbers and stuff and decided to keep it simple and just ride for a while. I have a new computer installed and will start logging again soon! :)

I thought yesterday's ride was going to put me over my 2009 goal of 3500 miles. But, ack! I came in just a whisker shy. My journal now stands at: 3499.45 miles! (Don't ask me how or why I've ever recorded miles out to 2 decimals!:rolleyes:)
DH felt I should have taken the bike out last night and rode around the block. I passed. I'll pass the mark on Thursday a.m., when I plan to bike to work again.
