As a new rider, I've felt inspired by the commuters on this forum and so today--instead of driving the 5 miles to my daughter's elementary school for lunch--I decided to ride my comfort hybrid instead. It took me between 15-20 minutes and I loved each minute of it...especially when I parked my bike on the bike rack next to all these little BMX bikes and tiny helmets!! There were lots of other parents there, eating lunch with their children and I got a few weird looks when I showed up sweaty (I live in Florida). I felt so good, though that it didn't matter...and I can't wait to do it again. Next mission--the grocery store.

Yay!! Don't worry about funny looks, they are just jealous -- keep pedaling :D:D:D!

hey good for you! they weren't looking at your sweat, they were thinking that THEY needed to work out.

Great job!!! Hopefully your daughter's friends will ask their parents why they don't ride their bikes (and hopefully their answers are: "because we're not as cool as her mom"). :)

What a great example you are to those kids- and their parents! :p

Excellent, you might inspire another parent. But it might take awhile.
