I usually ride on totally flat ground (chicago), but I let a friend convince me to do the "wright stuff century" in winsconsin yesterdy. Starting at a ski lodge, this ride was hilly. I was nervous at the beginning - not really sure that I could survive hills (not having trained on them at all). I was very proud of myself to have made it through the ride. The climbs were tough, some very tough. On several occasions, I would think the top of a hill was just around a corner, and then instead of descending, it would continue to climb at an even steeper grade. I had planned on a 60mi route, but this, due to some wrong turns, etc, turned into just shy of 75miles. I made it up every hill without having to walk the bike at all!

Today, I got a 30ish mile ride in with some cycling club guys. I didn't quite have my legs, but I will chalk that up to a day of climbing yesterday! I am a bit sore right now, but not too bad. Tomorrow = day off!
