Sigh.
Yesterday i was supposed to do this neat ride down by Enumclaw. It was pouring in the morning so I pooped out.

today there's wind, mixed rain and then sunbreaks. It's 5pm and DH finally went out and rode. He asked me if i wanted to go. NO!!!
It's POURING and the trees are pointing sideways>

NO!! i don't want to get on my bike today. he went without me.

We have better weather now here in Toronto than Northwest coast. But I felt dorkish and slug like cycling an old bike...which was mine that I rode daily, toured in it for over 11 years. Can't believe I rode thousands of kms. on this beast. Feels as if I am going to topple over on bike. Bike geometry is abit different than my current ones.

I only did 12 kms. today. Family bbq more important after not seeing them for 2+ years.

I did a 19 mile flattish ride yesterday. Today we rode 53 miles from Acton to Kimball Fruit Farm in Hollis, NH/Pepperell, MA and back. We changed up the route, especially the last 20 miles. It was really hilly; some very steep and one long one, about 2 miles of at least a 5-7% grade. All this because last we did this ride, I showed our friends a slightly different way to get back, we got lost, and this was our friend's way of fixing that! Most of the climbing was in Tyngsboro and Westford, MA, near where I lived when I first moved back here. So, unfortunately, I knew what was coming, even though my friend who planned the route didn't.
It was pretty cool out today (65). I started with arm warmers and took them off, but when we ate lunch at the farm, which is on top of a hill, we were cold. So, I put on my vest. Of course, there's a long downhill after the stop, and I was freezing again, so I had to stop and put the arm warmers on again. Then, they got pushed down when all the climbing started.
We recovered with beer, watermelon, and cheese at our friend's house, where we did the final planning for our trip to Spain next May.
It's going to be a very early start to the season next year...

I felt kinda weird this weekend. Did my interval ride on Saturday and my heart rate kept going way over what it usually does. Did a nice country ride yesterday over rolling topography and my legs felt like lead. What the heck is going on?

Woke up this morning with swollen glands, heavy chest and flu-like symptoms. That's what's going on... I was coming down with this crap. Baawaaaaa... this stinks! I hate being sick :mad::mad: And I really hate being sick on a holiday when I have off work... what a waste of a perfectly good holiday!

Rotten weekend for anything outdoors here!
I actually got out my trainer and did Spinervals, The UpHill Grind. Good workout, bummer to be indoors!

Our entire month of July was a total washout of solid rain and thunderstorms. one day we got 3.7 inches of rain in 24 hours. This stuff went on for a month for us. Not a good biking year here for sure.

Me, too, tctrek. I went out on an easy ride last week and felt terrible. I could barely get above 8-10 mph on a totally flat route. Woke up the next day with the sore throat and stuffy head. It's still hanging around today, which is bad, as I have a metric century on Sunday. Maybe I'll get back on the bike tomorrow. . . . sigh.:(
