Alas, I got this email from one of my favorite fast riders in the bike club:
Today my beloved MOTOBECANE "Immortal Force" full-carbon bike got stolen
out of my garage in Champaign. Colors are black and red lettering, red
tires, Ultegra, Fizik seat. Please let me know if you should see the bike,
or somebody puts it up for sale. Many thanks,
... so I'm goin' out to make sure the garage is locked...
Oh no, I'm sorry. I hope you find your bike. I can't stand a thief!!

Oh I'm so sorry. :( Hate to suggest this but check your local (or any) Craigs. Also flea markets. I hope your friend gets their bike back.
I hate bike thieves.
I'll be checking the bike racks at UI.

That's terrible. Bike thieves are the lowest form. :(
My friend's tandem (Ibis Cousin It) was stolen along with his truck last week. They found the truck, but not the bike. He said he'd rather it was the other way. Take my car, but leave my bike alone.
I hope your friend finds their bike. Soon!

That is awful. I have had bikes stolen too. Plus, one attempt outta my garage w/ the door up... but all the lights on & where you could SEE us sitting right in the living room through the glass front screen door! Now, that takes a lot of b@lls.
Unfortunately to say, they probably stalked his bike first. I think that is exactly what happened to my garage attempt story. I was coming in late from a ride w/head-light on. It's known in our sub I'm a cyclists = nice$bikes.
Out of all the bikes & power-tools they could have grabbed outta my garaage in that attempt... they ONLY went for *mine*. The other bikes are lesser $ quality. Bastages.
Since that, my mtb sleeps inside the house in the formal dining room--white carpet and victorian drapes included. My new carbon roadie girl sleeps on the 2nd story literally at the foot of my bed.
OH, and good luck w/the dog if ya get in.
Besides being insured on my home-owners, I also registered our bikes through the national organization. Lord only knows what condition it would be if found. But hopefully might lead to catching the theif.
(((hugs))) to your friend!
