Yep, since it looks like my bike is going to continue to be a memory for awhile, I've recommitted with Team in Training to walking the Nike Women's Half Marathon again.
As I did last year, I'm doing this in memory of my friend Bob. I'm also doing this to honor Collin, an adorable little boy with Leukemia.
More than 823,000 Americans are battling these blood cancers. I am hoping that my participation in Team In Training will help bring them hope and support.
Last year you all helped me raise close to $3,000. I don't know if I will make it this year, I understand times are tough for some of us. I'm prepared to meet my minimum on my own, the re-commitment papers have been signed!
If you are interested in Collin's story, his dad has given me permission to share his Caring Bridge site. I have to warn you, if you go there you are liable to fall in love with this little guy. :) I sure did.
