Has anyone tried using a stationary swim belt for training in a small pool? Are they any good? One better than the other? Any help, advice, opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I know of a few people who use them. They say that it's pretty good but not nearly as good as "real" swimming. One mentioned is this one (http://www.kiefer.com/ProductDetails/StyleMasterDetails.aspx?pid={e628269f-7876-4eac-b952-abce283a97e0}&pname=Kiefer+20+Foot+Swim+Belt&Referer=QUICK_SEARCH&Alias=tether&ptct=BS-SR&CTitle=&).

Yep, have one, hate it. Reasoning is that is reminds me of a treadmill...all that hard work and you don't go anywhere. But in a pinch it is a way to get in some practice/endurance.

Thanks. I fashioned a homemade swim belt from my Zoot number belt and and an extra long resistance band. Tied it to the palm tree at the end of my pool. I''m sure I look like a complete freakshow, but I think it will work. :)
