Let me preface this by saying, yes, I am fat and I do prefer loose cut clothes.

I ordered 2 jerseys...mens extra large. Even the arms are snug! They fit in the chest but everywhere else is sucked right to my abundant midsection! If I find any that are larger, they will be way too long. These are not race cut jerseys! I am losing weight and I assume they will look ok by the end of summer, but right now I am frustrated! I have been riding for two years in performace fabric tee shirts, but I want cute jerseys!!!!! Am I supposed to look poured into my jersey? They are not uncomfortable, just snug everywhere.

It's called "pro fit" and I'm struggling with this too. I guess if you're Lance Armstrong and have the body to pull off a skin-tight jersey (and really need that reduction in wind-resistance advantage) then it's ok, but it's pretty hard to find things in a good size. I've seen some really cute men's jerseys but if I were to order one large enough for my chest size, it would be tunic-length on me.

barb do the women's XL jerseys work for you? the mens cut are... well... cut for men... I can't wear the mens cut jerseys at all because there is no flare at the hipline so they end up bunched around my waist and it is critical to keep your back covered so your core stays warm...

I'd definitely try to find XL womens cut instead... here's a link to velowear... they have sizes for womens jerseys up to XXL... hope this helps...

Barb -
Have you tried Comparison Shop... Shop by Size on the Team Estrogen site? They have some jerseys in larger sizes, maybe that will help.

I can't find much in women's. I would need a 2x or 3x and in those sizes, they just don't make cute ones!!! I have sort of a straight build so the hips aren't a problem, just the midsection being so close fitting really bugs me. I guess I'll just have to do more crunches!

Terry makes jerseys for women in large sizes. If TE doesn't carry them, go to Terry's site and order directly. I think they go up to a 4X.

Most excellent Yvonne
I have thought about doing that over here for a while - but NZ is such a small country...
Waiting in anticipation

Your best bet is the Terry website (terrybicycles.com). They carry plus size clothing. The sizes are very generous. Also, Team Borah carries plus size women's jerseys. The nice thing about both manufacturers is that they have loose hems (ie no elastic in the waist band) so the jersey is more comfortable. If you are buying men's jerseys make sure you purchase a "club fit" which is looser, less form fitting than a race fit. I tend to buy men's jerseys just 'cause they are longer than women's. I'm tall and hate for the jersey not to at least cover some of my butt. You also don't really need to buy cycling jerseys. Any sports style top with wicking material will work. Also look at mountain biking jerseys, they run very loose compare to road jerseys.

Hurrah for you, Yvonne! But hurry or I may not be an XL customer when your line comes out (dream, dream.)

Could we have a "your ideal jersey design thread"? That would be a fun & creative. But I'm a computer primitive (using an ancient iMac carved from t-rex skull with seashell keyboard) so how could we do the graphics?

Yvonne,

Remember to make your jerseys in XS, too for us short/petite people. Many companies only make smalls. Never put any elastic anywhere!!!!!
