I hate cancer  I've lost my Dad to cancer, a grandfather, an aunt, and Knott's Dad to it. Knott and my Dad's sister both survived skin cancer, another grandmother survived breast cancer.... those of you who know me from this board know I've done several AIDS rides but cancer has cut a swath through my family and ....

Cancer sucks

I think the least we could do right now is raise a lot of funds in Susan's memory.

Somebody here WIN this bike!!

Fatty says that another way to WIN is to donate to another Fatcyclist/Livestrong rider's pledge goal. I'm sure we have several on this board.

Thanks for posting that; just donated.

And read some of his blog. Pass the tissues, please.

I'm on Team Fatty for the LIVESTRONG Challenge Philly. My personal donation page may be accessed here: http://philly09.livestrong.org/wellss57. Additionally, I've listed some cycling related items (saddles and bags) on my mobileme gallery that I am offering for donations to my Philly Challenge Ride. Items may be viewed at my gallery (http://gallery.me.com/susan.wells/100050). PM me if you're interested in donating for an item.

Thanks,
Susan

Admins? Can this be a place for TE members on Team Fatty to post their links? I know a lot of us do charity fund raising rides and we've been back and forth about soliciting donations on the board and how and when to do so.

I think it'd be cool for TE members to make a big statement in memory of Susan and for someone here to WIN that bike. :o

Oooh, Susan, you've got Baggins bags on your site

Is a raffle the same as a ride?

Remember kids, every time you donate $5 to a LiveStrong account, you get one "entry" to win Fatty's prize o' the day. (last time I looked it was a bike)

Susan's obituary asks for donations for the kids' college accounts rather than flowers and such in her memory. If you'd like to donate in a concrete way rather than to a large corporate body, in Susan's memory, consider that option. No chance to win a bike there, though. This part is real life rather than fun and games.

ETA: I know a lot of the Seattle bike folks encountered Elden when he lived here.

Done and done. In memory of my dear mother who lost her fight in 1992.

I didn't realize there was any sort of problem with soliciting donations on this board. Back when I was doing my TNT fundraising I had a link to my fundraising page in my signature line. Is that not OK? If so, I appologize.

(I changed my mind on the rest of my post ...)

That is excellent - nicely said, Knott.
