A year of working hard and making changes to my diet that is. Don't give up on yourselves ladies. If you're trying to get more fit and healthy, you CAN do it.

I meet with a trainer three times a week. I've really cut back on sugar consumption. I eat a lot more protein, less fat, more complex carbs.

Yeah, what they said! Your arms are amazing!
hijack--How do you get the number flag (can't remember the name of it!) to lie flat on your TYR race belt? The clips seem too close together, and I get a big gap in the number unless I stretch it out to the point it's uncomfortable (and digs into my waist). Looks like last year you poked a hole in the number in a different spot. TIA.

Last year we did poke a hole. But that's too much work. :p I just used the holes in the number this year. It doesn't look flat when it's just lying there, but it does look flat in the picture. I wear the belt so it's comfortable and don't fret about the number being flat. There's enough other stuff to think about when I'm running.

I could title a post the same way and show how much I've gone downhill in the past year! A shot of me before we left NC and one of me now? It would be downright SCARY.

Nope you can't do that. You've started a program to get yourself in shape again. Stick with it and then do a before and after picture. :)

Oh, most definitely! The 'befores' are frightening but motivating...
But seriously, you have made fantastic progress. You should be very proud!

I am very pleased. :D The arms look good, but I like the subtle difference in the hips and thighs. That's where I carry my weight, so presented with changes I can really see is cool and will help keep me motivated through teh fall and winter.
I never thought I could get so buff. Even when I was riding five times as much (yes, literally) I didn't look like this. Of course it's not a look for everyone. I'll never be little so I'll take buff instead. :p

An inspiration, indeed. You look great! I just started with weights yesterday, and oh boy am I hurting today. Good to know progress is possible.

Inspirational transformation. Thanks for posting! When I read the title of the post, it made me think how I recently have looked back at my riding stats for his year and compared to last year and the difference is almost laughable. The biggest difference in my body is in my butt. Much smaller! :D
Keep up the good work Veronica. YOU GO GIRL!!!

V - You look great!! Always inspirational. And I'm with you, I can ride my bike til the cows come home and it doesn't make me look cut. It might even make me a bit puffy. But some diet changes, running and strength training make a huge difference.
