I have been biking up a storm all summer long. I love summers. And today was an especially wonderful ride in beautiful Thurston County. Sunny, warm, beautiful scenic roads. I could have cycled all day long! My hubby grabbed my cell phone from me when we stopped and took this picture. He wouldn't let me take one of him the bum! Nothing too long, a nice 35 miler. I wish I was still out there on my bike enjoying the rest of this gorgeous day.

That jersey sure does look good on! :)

I just did a little 37 miles with a good friend. It was social, so we didn't worry about speed but just spent some time catching up. :)
Such a great day for riding. I agree, Susan- I could have ridden all day long with you. ;)

Nice jersey!

I just did a quickie ride this morning, as the hubby had to be to work this morning and I had to be home for the kiddos. Just about 7 miles. I saw a family of quail and a small rabbit. I paced the rabbit for a bit then rode on. :) It's quite peaceful early in the morning.

wow! Nice Jersey!

We rode 28 miles today the south end of Lake Washington loop. Then we stopped near the renton airport and picked enough blackberries for a pie.

Got home at noon before it got too hot.

great day, great ride.

Hey, that jersey looks great on!

I rode 21 miles around my mother's neighborhood and along Lehigh Trail in Palm Coast, which is near where she lives. It's a 3.9-mile trail, most of which is through Graham Swamp. It was really lovely. I went early in the morning, before it got too hot, but when I finished up around 10, I was drenched.

65k today. First half hanging on the back of the club group, then separated, got picked up a bit later for another few ks and then I peeled off and took a shortcut home. Not fit or strong enough to hang with them the whole ride but getting better :)

To me, groups like that have always looked intimidating as they flash past in their flash lycra, but now that I'm actually riding with them (sort of) I find that they're incredibly encouraging :D Wouldn't recognise any of them off the bike LOL - I just hear these unidentified voices as my eyes remain glued to the wheels ahead of me: "try a bigger gear" ... "there's a corner up ahead" ....:D

Cold and grey but the roads were dry with no ice so not bad for a winter ride.

And yes, that jersey does look great. Dying to order 'she loves hills'. Soon, hopefully...

Yes it is a nice jersey! ;) My favorite one in fact! I had two gals ask about it on my ride today. I have been wearing it a lot! :D Who ever designed it is a very talented artist!

MMMMMMMM blackberry pie Mimi! I can smell it baking all the way over here in Bonney Lake!

I did my 19 mile "flat" ride; my DH's front derailleur broke this week and there is not one shop in the area that has what he needs. So, he rigged his bike to work as a ten speed and off we went (he had to order the part from Excel). It was sunny and although the temperature was not that high, maybe 75, the humidity was climbing. I thought I was acclimated to the heat, but I actually had to stop near the end to rest; The ride was still good, and the huge groups I've seen the last few weeks are gone, since the PMC is this weekend. Still, a lot of riders. We were passed by a couple of young, speedy women in sneakers and cut off jeans...
After climbing the hill home, I saw that my average was still pretty high for me, even though I didn't feel like it was a great ride. Spent a couple of hours relaxing by the pond, swimming after the ride, and then went out for Mexican food.
Woke up this morning with some wheezing and allergies. Ugh, I haven't had my asthma act up for quite awhile. That most likely is why I felt so sluggish yesterday.

Did 25 miles, after not being in the bike for two weeks (bike in the shop, then too hot to ride). It felt great! Mostly flat but did intervals and felt strong. It should be cooler next week, and I'm looking forward to getting back in the saddle on a regular basis.

Hi! I haven't posted in a while, but thought I would take this opportunity to say hi (again). I started riding last summer, and since then, have been riding a lot - and am totally hooked! This summer has been great for me for cycling, in part thanks to some friends who regularly ride with me, as well as a group ride that I have recently joined. Yesterday (aug 1) I did an easy 30mi ride with a stop at mile 15 to run a quick errand. My ride ended at the gym where I attending spinning class (that was the not-so-easy part of my ride!)

Today (Aug 2) a friend and I did a nice 70mi tour de chicago and surrounding areas. We went out to Oak Park (home of countless Frank Lloyd Wright houses) and up to the botanical gardens. All in all, a great ride - and in amazingly good weather! (unfortunately, the last good weather we might have for a few days, or at least so says the weatherman . . . )

hey chicagogal, you sound like you are in pretty good shape. A 70 mile tour de Chicago ride is not a ride for a beginner! Glad to see you enjoying your bike! Hope your weatherman is wrong so you can get more great rides in! :D Don't you just love summers?! I sure do! :D

My BF and I did the Mountain Mama, near Monterey (VA), on Saturday. He tackled the very tough century course---8 mtns, 13K feet of climbing. I opted for the Valley level 'tour' and logged 43 miles.........

I posted some photos on another thread in the Mid-Atlantic forum. http://forums.teamestrogen.com/showthread.php?p=451575#post451575. Gorgeous scenery! I want to go back in the fall when the leaves are turning.

At the start of the ride, I spied one rider wearing a TE She Loves Hills jersey, but never got within range to ask her name!

I did an fairly easy out and back again 30 miler. Got my first compliment though. I was sitting at at traffic light about an hour 30 into ride, when this guy pulls up beside me (I had passed him while he was fiddling with his water bottle) and said, "You sure don't let grass grow, do you?" He then proceeded to tell me how he was pacing off me and was thrilled to see his average speed go up. I was riding a pretty good clip, so I was thrilled to get this compliment. :D

First big MS training ride for me - 40 miler. Very muggy today. But we finished before it started raining real hard. Got to admit, I like road miles better than levee miles. And today the lungs cooperated. :)

But now I'm beat. I want a nap.

So, DH and I ride downtown many weekends to meet one of his friends for coffee, and yesterday was no exception, except that the coffee shop was swamped, so the guys got margaritas at the mexican restaurant next door instead.

The decision was made to wander off to some other mexican-type restaurant/bar for more margaritas, and I started thinking that the end result of the ride was going to be me riding home and bringing back the Durango -- drinking, sunshine, hot weather....

Anyway, somewhere along the way, as I pulled up behind the guys (following cuz they knew our destination and I didn't) I hear -- I bet you're glad you got Karen into this bike riding stuff, right? Yeah, well, she's still pretty good anyway...

The point was that we were biking to bars instead of driving, so neither of them had someone to be the designated!
