Background - DH got a 2007 Trek Fuel Ex in Dec 2007 (picked it up used, so warranty is out) for a great price. Last month the LBS did an overhaul for him as he is getting ready to do a tour with it in OR mid-August. The LBS told him he needs new bushings and they can't get them because they aren't a Trek dealer and the part has to be ordered through a Trek dealer. The Trek dealer here keeps telling me they can't get the bushings - back ordered, with no indication of when it will be available.

Has anyone else had issues like this with this particular model? Any suggestions on finding the bushing? The local Trek dealer told me to look on line to find one - not sure how to even start doing that. Did I mention the local Trek dealership stinks?

Although I don't have their phone # or website address, try searching for Push Industries. They specialize in rebuilding shocks, and quite often have older parts that many people can't get. If you aren't able to get them, and can't get them through the LBS, give me a shout and I can look through a dealer here in Maine. I have worked a couple of times with a dealer here this summer(I'm not a Trek dealer either) Good luck!!

It might not be a bad idea to buy a couple sets of these once you are able to locate them. Generally small parts become much more difficult to find once they become 3 years old, and thought this might save you trouble down the road.

In the meantime, I'll keep searching here for more info on Push Industries.

Thanks for the info. It's been a very frustrating week dealing with the LBS - doesn't help that their customer service bites.

I'm going to call the LBS/Trek dealer from where we used to live in VA to see if they have some.

Maybe not there, but have you tried ebay?
