I had a huge accomplishmet today! :DThere is a big hill that I have to takle to get to work. I finally made it with out walking any distance of it!!! I must admit that I did stop for about 1 min cause My lungs were burning and I started to wheeze pretty bad. but I got back in the saddle and didn't walk. Now my goal is to do it with out stopping. I probably could have made it but I forgot to premedicate before I left home. DUH. Will remember from now on!
I want to hear about your accomplishments lately. or your latest endorphine high.
Oh yea, some of you know that my bike, my hubby's bike, and our 7yo son's dirt bike were all stolen. so how did I accomplish this feat? I used my brothers bike. I am 4 ft 11in and he is well, alot taller. so yea. I wasn't increadibly comfortable, But I still got to ride.

congrats!
my high was commuting on the hottest day that has ever hit Seattle in recorded history... and it wasn't that hard.
keep tackling that hill. You'll be going over it faster soon enough. And stopping is good !

That's awesome! I didn't ride today, but I was pretty proud of myself for doing 10 miles yesterday for the first time. This newbie was pretty stoked! :D

My big high was two days ago - after training hard all week (we're doing the MS tour in October and I want to make sure I'm ready) I was really sore on my Wednesday ride with my teammates. When we came to our two hills (which are actually just overpasses on the Lakefront because New Orleans has no hills!) I opted to do them a second time (instead taking the short cut my much more fit riding buddy suggested). And loved the challenge.
I just had my bike adjusted and I am in love with it.

I biked 30 miles today!:D It was the longest distance I've biked in one ride yet. I have sore wrists and a sore tail bone but feel good that in the short time I've been biking I've built up the stamina to ride that long. I stopped just twice to snack for breakfast.
After reading the newbie thread I think I need to get a new saddle. I'm tired of having the sore tailbone. How do you all avoid the sore wrists? I have drop down bars and change position often so I figure it's due to me being overweight and I just have to drop the extra lbs.

Congrats! I love reading these kinds of stories. :)
but I got back in the saddle and didn't walk
Right on!!!!
How do you all avoid the sore wrists?
Are you bending your wrists much while you ride? Often I find myself beinding my wrists outward, especially on the drops, and that can lead to wrist soreness. But congrats on 30 miles!! How long have you been biking? It's great that you have already built up the stamina to go that far. :)
