I decided to do a a little ride before the ride:

The I went on the club ride. Last week I think I surprized some folks. I went through a light right when it changed. The "peloton" caught me on the first hill, but I chased back on:) While I didn't have that luck today (the lights weren't on my side:o), but I noticed some of the "hammerheads" didn't want to do the medium ride, so we had a reduced regroup:

I had to laugh as on the rides took great umbrage at being passed by a fat babe on a recumbent. uphill. twice.
It took forever to get my coffee, so I didn't tarry at social hour, now to bake my crossiants for the Tour De France Party!

Great job, Fredwina. :)
I did 30 with a training group (Team Bike Buddies) training for the Ride MS ride in September. I had my highest average in a long time. I felt good, the weather was good, and all the stars lined up. :)
I forgot my camera, but saw lots of neat things: new baby horses, baby calves, a woman training her horse (he was a beauty), and a little bi-plane doing tricks in the air.

Nice report Fredwina! love the pics - as usual!
TriGirl... sure was "thick" out there today, wasn't it? Woof
I went out "late" b/c I was watching the Tour live and couldn't pull myself away right after. Anyway - I didn't think it was that hot when I left. Woof. It may have only been 95 out there, but it sure felt humid! Think maybe we have some increased chance for rain or something. I just couldn't seem to breathe right/well. Bahhh!
I haven't downloaded my Garmin yet, but I'm sure the speed is slow compared to some recent rides. Still - its better than any day on the couch, right? And its certainly better than last weekend (when I was down with flu-like junk Sat/Sun).
37 miles today.. pretty flat terrain - less than 1000' climbing.

Maybe...;) Actually I think I may be free that weekend. I'll have to check the ol' calendar and see, but it looks like a lot of fun! It's on the short list for sure. I don't often get to that area to ride, but it's soooo pretty, that whenever I do I'm really glad I did. :)
You should do the MS Ride. It starts in T-town and ends up in the City (with an overnight stay in Chandler). 70 the first day (with an optional century) and 60 the second day. http://bikeoke.nationalmssociety.org/site/PageServer?pagename=BIKE_OKE_homepage
I'll do yours if you'll do mine. :) hee hee- just kidding
And I got out early enough that it wasn't too bad out there- 'cept that the wind was kickin' it like crazy out of the SW. Yowza!

Did a hair over 19 miles early this morning, as my son was coming over to go swimming.
We did the "flat" route in the opposite direction, which is a little longer than the normal way we do it because of a one way street. My DH pushed me relentlessly and I felt it. I was able to stay behind him, save for a couple of times when he sprinted up little rollers. I just can't do that; I feel so much more comfortable spinning. But, I was able to go up these little climbs at a faster pace. Before we started up the hill for the final big climb, my average was 17.8:eek: and 16.4 when I got to my house. I don't usually like to report my speed, but this was a first for me.
I was exhausted when we got back, but we had a nice picnic at the pond with our son. I think it's the first time I've seen him without his girlfriend being there in a year.

Earlier this week i felt some back twinges. Nothing serious,... but... Today my back went out. I was reaching for something on the floor; something i do every day; I'm pretty spry and flexible. NOT any more. Oh brother.
We were planning to ride up to the north end of Seattle to help out in a work party stuffing packets for Ramrod. All i wanted to do was go to the chiropractor. DH suggested i take the light rail AFTER the chiropractor so i could rest myself for a bit; so that's what i did. Got very good TLC at the chiro and then got on the train. While i was hanging my bike, the train moved... and I almost fell over it felt so bad!!
the rest of the train ride wasn't as fun, as i was recovering from the lurch.
Got off the train (didn't touch my bike until the train stopped moving!!!) and rode the rest of the way to Seattle center where I met Donald. At this point i realize my seat is different today, i am heavier on my hands and my crotch... muscle spasms in my back I guess. But the nutty thing was; i felt better when i was pedaling than when i stopped. Got to the work party and sat down OW
after the packet stuffing party, all i wanted to do was get on the bike. We rode home along the waterfront, with a chilly (wonderful) wind coming across the Sound onto us. (I could have ridden back and forth THERE all night!
The rest of the ride was uneventful, but every time we had to stop at a light I groaned. (I even went through 1 light where there was no traffic so i didn't have to stop. :o
19.5 miles today.
I can't beleive it. I have the longest ride yet reported!
Forty flat miles on the rail trail.
Stopped a lot to chat, take photos, pick berries, wait out a sudden squall.
It took about 5 hours but what a great way to spend a day.
Maybe some photos later if you're good.

Hope your back gets better soon, Mimi. Take it easy..but frustrating when the weather is nice in our neck of the continent right now.
Did 46 kms. Last few kms. was broken up by dropping by home with a whole fresh salmon and 2 boxes of fresh raspberries. Can't lug that all over the place.
Then biked up to see a new rapid transit station opening.

Well after last Sunday's ride (it's Sunday here today) was cancelled due to snow, it was bliss to do 55ks in the SUNSHINE! Only had to wear four layers of clothing and fingers were so warm I was able to shed the second pair of gloves :D First 20ks was fast, just barely hanging on to the club group, then we beginners took a turnoff and did the rest at a much more leisurely pace :D
Neck/back pain is slowly lessening. It's so nice to be trying to ignore lactic acid type pain in my quads and not a dagger down the side of my spine :D:D:D:D:D
Oh, and a question: how do you open a Clif bar wrapper while riding, if you're not able to ride no-handed (working on that one)? Thought I'd cracked a tooth at one point:rolleyes:. Homemade biscuits in a plastic bag were much more accessible :p

I did the Goatneck Ride in Cleburne Tx, a rolling hill ride. I did the 41mile option. I'm such a whimp, I just checked and it was about 755 feet of climbing. Not much for a lot of you, but felt like a lot to me.

Nice pics and report!
BF and I did 22 miles out and back and I spent the ride waiting for him to catch back up. On a positive note, I have to say that he keeps me from going out hard when I ride with him but I am thankful to have the Monday night group ride to keep me tuned up and humble.
