I wanted to try a new vegetable... so I bought radishes. I've heard that people eat them as snacks? What do you guys do with them???

Radishes are great to just eat like they are or to put in a salad.

Cut 'em in half, smear each half with butter, then sprinkle on a dash of salt. Quite tasty.

I just sprinkle a little salt on them and eat them as is. Or slice them into salads.

wash, cut root and leaves off. EAT.
sometimes a little salt is nice; but i usually eat them so fast i don't have time to put salt on them.

The big white ones? The Japanese are good at turning them into stuff. And raw I also usually sprinkle salt on them. Goes well with beer, as done in Bavaria.

the round red ones - purty when cut into roses as salad garnish. But they don't last long in my house, finger food.

Open mouth, insert radish.

Enjoy!

I love radishes. I don't even add salt anymore.

Cutting top and bottom. My mom used to keep a lot of them in a jar full of water in the fridge. I think it eases the pepperiness a bit when they are strong.

Yum! Fresh radish. I could cut them into those decorative rose patterns ;) and garnish the whole roast oxen platter. They never last that long.

Put them in your fridge, forget about them for a few weeks until they are limp and starting to stink, put them in your compost pile, use that compost to plant radishes next spring...the cycle continues.

I like them raw or sliced in salads. Also I like to toast an onion bagel, slice radishes and avacodo and put a little vegetable cream cheese or chive cream cheese.

do you guys ever do anything with the greens that come on top of the radish?

Not often. It takes a lot of time to do enough radish roses to go around the ox ;)

Sure, you can steam or saute them and eat them like other dark leafy greens.

The downside is that radish greens tend to be quite dirty, at least at the stores that I get them from, so clean them thoroughly.
