I have the physical fitness I want & am happy with the progress i'm making. The next thing i need to conquer is mental demons for MTB enduro events. I know things don't go according to plan & I then lose all confidence in my tech abilities.
Has anyone read The New Toughness Training for Sports? If not, are there any books you can suggest?
If i want to do a 12hr solo, i know i'll need the mental toughness. Would working with a trained mental professional be better?
Any thoughts? Ta!

I really don't think reading books will do it. I've done a number of through the night rides and I didn't succeed because I read a book.
In terms of the tech stuff - get up at 3 am and do a ride and work out the tech kinks then, in a safe route environment.
Just my opinion. YMMV.

Thanks MP! If anyone knows about enduro events it's you!
The 12hr is a dirt event from 5pm-5am so I think i'll just do some night rides on the trails & increase the time each week. ?

Yeah just getting yourself used to the conditions you will be riding in will be important. For me it was gaining confidence with my lighting, etc., and knowing that at 3 am if I needed to change a bulb I could do it.

+1!
Took my "fast" bike to check the light setup since I'm doing a 200K on 8/1 that starts at 4:00AM
