Okay, I'm sitting here by myself at home in Kansas City, almost bawling my eyes out at the nostalgia of the All Star Game being in St. Louis, my hometown. Jack Buck, Stan Musial, Ozzie Smith and all the others...it brings back so many good memories and I wish I could have afforded to go, or at least gone to St. Louis to be with friends while the game was on. My BBF sent my husband and I All-Star t-shirts to wear during the game. My DH is working tonight, so it is just me and the dogs. I'm having fun watching, but also having a pity party.

I'm sorry you're homesick. I'm watching the game, too, and bawling my eyes out because of the everyday All Stars segment that they did. One day I will go to an All Star game- it's on the bucket list.
We went to a game the last season the Cardinals were in their old stadium. When it got torn down, we bought two of the seats. They're sitting in our living room. I LOVED St. Louis and can't wait to go back some day. :)

Ha! We have two seats from the old Busch Stadium also!! My DH bought them for my 40th birthday...one of my dear friends frequently threatens to paint them KC Royals blue someday. very funny...
I watched so many games in that stadium, had straight A tickets every year in grade school. My dad would take me. One year, I went by myself to get popcorn for the first time, and got lost on the way back to our seats. I heard his whistle, my head whipped around and he was standing up waving at me. hee hee.

Oh, and our seats are on our patio. Perfect place to listen to games in the summertime.

Purrrrrrrfect!!!! :D I'm not a die hard Cardinals fan, just a HUGE fan of baseball. We thought we needed a piece of baseball history in our house. Never thought about putting them out on the patio. I guess they sat outside in Busch Stadium through all kinds of weather, huh? I didn't want them to get wet or cold. :p

I have a friend with four of those seats! What a great idea that was. I'm a Cardinal fan, but not on the level you guys are! I remember that Keith Hernandez gave a talk to our High School. He told us what a straight arrow Ozzie was. Went home to his family at night and was not involved in any drugs or parties. I always thought Ozzie was terrific.

I at first had wanted to put the seats in the house somewhere, but my dh pointed out their obvious previous home, so I agreed to put them on the patio. They are under an overhang and not in the sun. I don't want them to fade any more than they already have. I still can't believe I have Busch Stadium seats on the patio!

I met Keith Hernandez at a St. Louis Steamers soccer game one night. Stan Musial and his wife were there, too. Stan is the nicest guy, Lillian was a sweetheart. My friend was a diehard Keith Hernandez fan (and her name was Hernandez, also!) so we staked out their box until he came out. LOL!!
I've been fortunate to also meet Ozzie a couple of times. Class act for sure.
