I've been looking for rides to try in the Northwest and came across a ride in Nelson, BC this September called P.A.G.E - Pedal Around a Glacier Eh! I love the name :) www.kics.bc.ca/firstbaptist It sounds kinda fun and I might like to try it, but don't want to get in over my head. I've been to Nelson and they have very impressive hills/mountains and that was just in town! Has anyone out there done the ride? I would love to hear about it :)

Oh, that looks like it's the loop! I can't remember the name, (Slocan Loop?) but I've driven it - I fell in love with New Denver. Kaslo and Nelson are favorites too. It's hilly, very hilly. I remember seeing some bike tourers, s l o w l y going up some of those hills. I think it was between Kaslo and New Denver.

If you've got the hill ability, I would bet it's a great trip. I may need to remember this for next year. I haven't been back to BC since 2001.

When it comes to hills I basically suck. I'm slow, gasp for air and stop alot. But I seem to have a dogged determination/stubborn streak to make it up every hill I try! So I do hills. I'm just worried I would come in at midnight only to have to be on the road again by 7:30am :) I know these rides have support wagons to haul you in, but that doesn't seem right, if your just too slow.

I have recently found a couple of hilly rides to add to my daily routine. I'm really starting to like long steady hills, sort of, and if I can get my little chick to quit her b**ching about riding hills we can do them more often.

Hey Snap, Maybe we can plan to meet up. If I don't go this year, I will definitely go next year. Umm, what is your hill ability?!

I will be in Nelson for an adventure race in August... if you want me to scout out the route for you let me know. It is beautiful here in BC... definately sounds like an enjoyable ride!

Hey BikerHen! I don't know about this particular ride, but most of those supported rides have a course closing time, i.e. if you don't finish the course by a specified time, you get sagged to the finish... no choice about it.

September gives you quite a bit of time to train. I'll bet you could do it!! :)

My hill ability right now does not exist! I will definately put this on next years list of possibles - the whole area is one of my favorite places on earth. Here are pictures from my last trip - hiking only, no bikes.
