are these thick like a fleece or a sweatshirt?

Sort of like a fleece, but a bit compressed. No fuzz.

I have a black one already. Would get the cranberry, but I have a Bouclé in that color already.

They are like a dressy cardigan sweater.

Since this is such a great deal, I went back and bought the Thistle shak before the sale ends later today. I already have the brown & the black, so now I will have a different color full zip shak for every day of the work week.

Figured it was a good investment. These pieces, with proper care, should last me for years.

I'm looking forward to seeing what colors they will have this year. In addition, I hope they do the Juliet zip in brighter colors, like bright pink or violet and black.

Damn you! I had to do it...ordered a Thistle shak. Luckily, I held off long enough that they had no more brown in my size. Now I really do have one for each day of the week - throw in my multiple Carrie hoodies and I can be all Ibex, all the time.

I am also looking foward to next year's colors. I love the bright purple-blue one that is in the gift box image. I hope they do some brighter colors this next season!

Yes, I have not bought any Shaks for quite a while....waiting for some less somber colors. And that 'warm green' just doesn;t look good on me- I tried it on once. I keep waiting for tomato or mango or pumpkin or periwinkle or robin's egg blue! :o

Yeah, I liked the warm green on me when my hair was brown. Now, it's not so great. Eh - I still wear it. (and my warm green kate and my warm green zephyr). Huge coloring swings on a person is not good for the wardrobe! :p

Cat, I'm sorry for enabling your Ibex addiction. At least it was a great deal and you will more than get your money's worth out of the new shak. I pm'ed you something to hopefully make up for it.

Periwinkle would be great! I'd still love a bright deep blue-violet or a bright teal/aqua. They definitely should be brightening up their palette this season, if they go along w/the rest of the clothing industry.

It's not on sale, but has anyone checked out the Triathlon Red version?

I don't have a shak in triathalon red, but I do have the pointelle long sleeve T in that color. It's nice - kind of a brick red. It's not super bright, but it's definitely a rich color.

My thistle shak arrived today and the color is much nicer than in the photo. More violet than I thought. The green and cranberry came earlier in the week, and they also are lovely. No buyer's remorse! But I won't be disappointed if it takes a LONG TIME before the weather gets cold enough to wear them! :)

That's why I love living in Vancouver. I wear the Shak and Boucle year round!

Same here in Portland. Even on the hot days, I keep a shak at work so that I can deal with the A/C. I figure that makes my wool problem more understandable, right?....RIGHT? ;)

I think GLC needs to get some sheep so she can spin her own wool. I wonder if they would get along w/the goats?

Doesn't cashmere come from goats? :D

See the goat on the right? That's Buddy - he's a Pygora. Half angora goat (where mohair comes from) and half pygmy goat (hence his small size). We've collected one season of fleece - one more and I will have enough to knit something small. :D Of course, I need to learn to spin it first!

And yes, cashmere comes from goats. And oddly enough, angora comes from rabbits, not angora goats. ;)

I love your goats, particularly Sass.
