I need to buy a florescent jacket, given that it's summer in San Francisco, which means fog. I need to be seen! I went to Sports Basement this weekend and nothing that they had fit. I'm short, 5'3", but round, wearing an 18 or 20 for pants. The jackets at Sports Basement didn't fit around my ample waist. I looked at TeamEstrogen, but I don't see anything that is that good flourescent green color that can be seen in the fog.

Can anyone suggest sources for jerseys, jackets etc, for those of us who are riding to loose weight? :) Can anyone in the Bay Area suggest any shops that might be helpful?

What about buying a jacket that is comfortable and then buying some reflective tape to stick on in a V down the back (very effective from a drivers point of view) or some reflective material and tacking in place...?
I have done something like this for one of my sons.

I have also seen reflective aprons worn in reverse like a bum-bag (I think Americans say fanny pack???) - I think these can be bought, but it would be relatively easy to make one

As a driver, I find these "aprons" very effective as the lower back and backside of the cyclist are extremely visible from behind (the one that is best is red and silver vertical stripes)

Try PI - they have a jacket called the Zephyrr that comes in Hi-Vis Yellow with reflective piping on the front, back, and sleeves. I thought TE carried it but don't know for sure. You can try the PI web site. Or your LBS.

Did you try Sports Basement online? Maybe try the guy's sizes? They might have what you need, or TE has all kinds of safety/reflective stuff: :D

We seem to be about the same size. I got my jacket at REI. It's a men's large and the sleeves are long but they have cuffs that keep them in place pretty well. I use a construction worker vest in hi vis yellow. It is mesh and keeps me visible and cool at the same time.

Now for Bras...any suggestions? Please don't say title 9. They do not have fat chick bras at all! I am ready to go braless until I really gross enough people out that someone will make a decent sports bra in a 42!!!! Sorry to steal your thread, I am in the throws of shopping sadness!
