Has anyone flown Alaska recently with a bike? The shop I was renting a case from closed but my boss' new Madone came packed and padded to the gills so he saved the box for me.
Anyway, half the reason I'm going home is to ride the roads there because I never have. And I want to hit a crit in town so my mom can watch me race! I can't seem to find anything on their website and every time I call their customer service I sit on hold until I run out of patience.
I can handle $50-75 each way but not much more. Mom sees no reason for me to bring it. "Why can't you just borrow a bike?" Uh, mom it's my several thousand dollar baby that I spent $200 and 5 hours having perfectly fit to my happy butt, that's why.
I don't feel comfortable renting a bike for a crit, and the local shops are $55 a day so after two days it becomes more sensible to bring El Tiburon. I'm trying to bum something off my friend whose GF rides the same size bike, but it's not looking good.
