Hi all,
I have a friend who is looking for a full suspension XC bike. There's a lot of great bikes out there, however she is only 5' tall with a 27.3" inseam. She needs an x-small fame. Does anyone now who offers x-small frames?

She's found only 2 within her size so far. She's looking at the Santa Cruz Juliana, although the bike isn't stocked so she's been unable to try it out! She did try a used xs bike from Titus, not sure which one. I believe it fit her okay. She's going to borrow the bike and try it out on the trails.

She wants to make sure the bike fits and is right for her. With so few choices and not being able to try them out, makes it a bit harder. If anyone knows of some others she could try, please let me know.

Thanks for all your help,
Kerry

Check the Titus web site. I belive the Racer X comes in an XXS. I'm just under 5'4" and can't say enough about my Racer X. It is an awesome bike and I've gone through a lot of them. Sonja (my Titus) will climb hills with or without you and is incredibly nimble on singletrack. She's a really wonderful bike.

You've hit the two that I would have thought off the top of my head. Does Ellsworth or Ventana make anything in this size range?

If she is OK with an 80mm travel fork, the Racer X comes in an XXS. I didn't compare the sizing of the frame for the 100mm travel.

There is a new Santa Cruz Blur called the XC that also comes in an extra small. The geometry of the Blur XS extra small is similar to the Juliana SL small. They are brand new. The first ones were delivered about 2 weeks ago. If she's considering a Juliana, she should at least check out the Blur XC.

lots of discussion in the mtbr women's lounge on this. the titus comes up a lot. Kona makes some little ones too.

Thanks Irulan! I wasn't even aware the mtbr had a discussion forum. I've only used their site for reviews.

Thanks to everyone else who posted replies, too. I wasn't aware Santa Cruz offered the Blur in an x-small, either.

I'm 4'11 and have a 26 inseam, I purchased an XS titus last year and it's worked great. I also made the switch to 24" tires a few years ago. I didn't want to make the switch initially (mainly I didn't want to look like a little kid), but the difference they made with standover is amazing. There are a lot more tire options now since many downhillers will run a 24" rear tire.
