Well, the sun *did* come out finally, but it was around 4:30...
So, we decided to ride to dinner! Of course this totally negates the calorie burning effects of cycling, but, it saves gas usage.
Rode our Codas to W. Concord in the worst rush hour traffic. There was so much glass in the intersection of Rt. 2 and 62 I prayed that I wouldn't get a flat. This is a historically bad spot for riders in my family, since my son lost a pedal and crashed in the middle of this major intersection, spraining his ankle and my DH had a tire slashed by a piece of metal. After getting cut off by a guy who decided to position his car half way in 2 lanes so I couldn't pass, we ate delicious, but unhealthy Italian food (eggplant parm sub) and then walked around some of the stores. Then we rode back to Concord center, where we got ice cream. I felt slightly virtuous, since I had some really good frozen yogurt, with fresh blueberries. We sat on a bench and watched the seemingly hundreds of riders pass by. Thursday night is a very popular night for group rides and they all pass through Concord center. I actually wore sleeveless!
Rode home and got to use my lights (it was dusk, not really dark) where I showered and got into bed at 8:30.
A total of 12.2 miles.
