Okay - so I know I'm getting old ;) but...

I did a 90 minute Spinervals tape this morning and now 4 hours later I can really feel my knees. No problems during the workout. I know I was keeping my cadence up even when pushing the big gears. Two of my older sisters have arthritic knees so I suppose it may be inevitable, but I don't want my knees to keep me from pushing hard. Anyone else dealing with knee issues?

Correct diagnosis is crucial. This cannot be done in a web forum. Whether you go see a PT, Orthopod, Sports doc or other is up to you. My knees were mis diagnosed for years. I got a correct diagnosis from a podiatrist who specializes in atheletes and gait issues, look at the whole joint system. Amazingly enough my problem was fixed with a prescribed set of stretches focusing on certain leg and knee muscle groups.

I'll bring it to the attention my doc whom I see only once a year. It's certanly become a bigger problem for me with the onset of colder weather.

Knee pain can be from so many different things. i have had knee problems while cycling for ever it seems. My seat foreaft position was the problem!! gah! Anyway, knee pain after exercise can be for a number of reasons including tight muscles. Try stretching (gently, with NO PAIN) your IT band, hip flexors, quads, inner thigh and hamstrings. Each of these muscles "tugs" at your knee in some form which can cause some pain in your knee. Definitely get assessed by your physio or doctor.

good luck!
